That's in case he should ever find success (or a winning lotto ticket) later in life, that he's not off the hook. Doubtful for sure, but it's happened before elsewhere. Same time, I wouldn't object if he has to repay that total in license plates.

Looks like framing work is underway on the second floor at the rear of the building.

For some reason, this scene jumped to my mind.

I won't lose any sleep over it.

At least after he gets out he'll keep paying, which he should.

Arsonists shouldn't be allowed to destroy our city. Granted, you don't see many arsons Downtown.

Anyone have any updates on construction at Copia? Last time I went by (about a month ago) it still looked pretty dark and quiet.

I believe the owners of Copia are also opening the "Wash Ave Market" next door to Copia and the Diner across the street. I have completely given up hope for ALL of these projects getting done any time soon. The market and diner appear to be ready to go and have been sitting there for weeks if not months. I have not seen anyone in either building for quite some time. Does anyone have any inside info on what is going on with these spaces? It's very depressing to see these businesses just sitting there waiting to be opened. As far as Copia goes...I would say hopefully next year at the current pace (If Ever).

According to the owner, Copia will be reopening in December.

Someone gave us a $50 Copia gift certificate a month before the fire. Since it's the same owner/same name, etc. think they'll honor it? I don't think anyone would have guessed it would have taken this long to re-open (2 years!), and I have to give the guy credit for sticking w/ it and actually seeing it through. Either way, we'll hit it up to show support.

Go by the 12th St. Diner or B&T and ask ET if he's around...

Walked by today. There was an official post on the window to the right of Copia saying they don't have a work permit so all work/construction was stopped. Sorry, I'm not sure if I'm saying this with the proper wording, nor do I know how long that piece of paper was there. Has anyone else seen this and know what's up?

The notice on the window is at "Shiver Vodka Bar" not Copia. They are working in Copia today and things are looking very good at the moment. I recommend everyone walk by and check it out.

As for Shiver, the work permit issue looks like it is causing some slowness.

I saw them doing work in the back of the building. Not sure of schedule. Someone could ask ET if they see him.

Kind of funny that the new forum puts a little flame icon next to this thread.

Really? The back section doesn't look anywhere near done, at least from the outside.

I guess it's possible this group could have partied in a burned-out shell. I know of some people that wouldn't know the difference whenever they party, but I haven't partied with them in a long time.

Looks like a liquor license was issued for Copia as of 3/15.

I looked in the window a week or two ago. It looks like it is ready to go.
