Walking home from Bridge I caught a glimpse of the back patio. They were testing the outdoor fireplaces....looked ready to go from my POV as well. Looking forward to it re-opening....

Wow.
On my morning walk, I passed by Copia to see some of the signs along the windows down and gaps in the drapes. Looking inside, I saw the new place, and it looks incredible. Tables are set up (although not with silverware or napkin settings), ambient lighting was set up (quasi-Asian themed lamps), and waterfall walls were visible and flowing along the walls separating the dining area. The bar was lit, although no bottles or glassware was set. The kitchen was lit, and from the street I could see pots & pans hanging behind the counter. New lounge chairs were arranged (with tags still hanging from the cushions underneath).
The reopening looks imminent, and dare I say better than before.
Q: There is a dining area separate from Copia, I think in the base of the building directly to the East (Vanguard Lofts if I recall). I've seen it set up before as a sporadic event space. The window curtains are the same make as those of Copia. Could this be set up as a separate dining room?
Either way, welcome back, Copia. We've missed you down here.

There will be an after party for the Downtown House Tour on Saturday in Copia. I guess that will be the first official event.

I saw wine fridges being delivered there this afternoon. Now Copia is again ready for wine.
They were interviewing today (not that I was interviewing, but walked by and saw a sign on their door).
Look forward to visiting here.

I passed Copia driving home tonight, and it looks like they're having a private event tonight. Balloons outside, valet parking, pretty hostesses in black dresses. I'm so ready to see the return of one of Downtown's best restaurants, I'm about ready to crash there right now (and I'm dressed for trivia night at Tin Can).

Yep, I saw a mob of people outside too. I guess they're back in business.
The owner told a friend of mine the public opening is tomorrow...Monday

Copia, which opens to the public on Monday, dazzled hundreds of guests with the rooms that can seat more than 300 and the retractable roofed patio – just right for the rain forest climate – providing air conditioning (and heat in the cold season). A blizzard of dishes, beautifully conceived by chef David Rook, were fawned over by the jaded crowd...“We built this restaurant at a cost of $2.5 million,” offered Bruce.

Copia owner, Eyad Tammas, (fondly referred to as E.T.), rules over the 15,000 square-foot dinery and comes there with strong credentials including stints at St. Louis and Old Warson country clubs and the Racquet Club. On a tour of the premises, E.T. proudly pointed out the tanks in which grape juice will be readied for producing house-made wine. Chef David Rook pitched in with a littany of his creations, that feature house-made, smoked trout, dry rubbed ribs, seafood gumbo, surf & turf of filet mignon and Alaskan king crab and oxtail soup.
