Nah. If that were the case I'd continue to speak out for fiscal responsibility but on the inside I'd be secretly hoping something got done.

But that secret hope is gone now.

Amy Trask is the former CEO of Raiders, always impressed with her knowledge and the way she talks about this whole relocation process when she is on 920am
So could Davis afford to pay that? Would he want to pay that? I say he stays put.

Supposedly he is selling part of the team to bring in a second investor for a move to LA.

It would come out of their revenue sharing. Wouldn't be a one time payment. And since the LA market would big in bigger revenue it's a non issue. Plus Davis has said he has $500m for a stadium in Oakland or relocation fee to LA.

Why would you stay put in a crumbling stadium in Oakland, when you can have a stake in your own new stadium in Los Angeles?

Sam Farmer didn't say too much new, but did say this:
What was the vibe from NFL owners and executives after hearing the pitches from the three home markets last week?

Several owners and executives not connected with the Rams find the St. Louis plan lacking and were unconvinced last week by backers of that proposal. Some have pointed to the better deal the Minnesota Vikings got — with the public footing half the cost of a new stadium — from a bigger market.

Any plan looks lackluster without an enthusiastic (or even present) team/owner to partner with.

Aldermen W&M Committee has set another public input hearing, this time in O'Fallon Park on Tuesday after dark (6 PM).

Methinks the boisterous white county people we saw at the Saturday hearing will not be making it to this one.

It just seems pretty obvious he is the most interested in staying in his present market... he was actually at the NFL town hall meeting. If he thinks absolutely nothing will be able to get done on Oakland in the foreseeable future I'm sure his outlook will be different than if he thinks in the end something can get worked out there in the coming years.

I thought it was well worded.

Not everybody that lives in the county is bad. Obviously. Most are good people. Some are even good urbanists.

But the people who made their presence known at that last hearing were deserving of scorn.

Why what? And what's contentious about what I said? They were boisterous, they were white, and they were from the County. And I'm thoroughly convinced that almost all of them will find something else to do than drive to O'Fallon Park after sundown.

That's about a 9.9 out of 10 on the passive aggressive scale.

Ive lived in the city for a decade and I wouldn't go to O'Fallon park at night. Not sure what's so terrible about being honest about how that particular park is viewed and its reputation, which is at least partially deserved.

Darlene Green is an "emphatic no" on the current board bill.

There were quite a few other races and genders there last week wearing Rams jerseys. City and County I believe. City Rams fans were not as organized to speak as the opposition, who had Native Americans and two economists lined up to speak. In fact, I would say 80% of the opposition was only there because the leaders asked them to come and speak. I stood in the back and watched several opponents go straight to their cars and leave right after they spoke, in the first 30 minutes of the event.

There probably will not be a lot of County people there this time, of all races and genders, since -- after being invited to come last week -- they were roundly criticized for showing up. You can't invite a bunch of Rams fans to an outdoor meeting about the Rams and expect them to not cheer for the Rams. Especially when the subject is essentially Rams extermination here.

I agree. I guess what the owners are saying is -- the smaller the metro area, the more cash should come from the public. Of course that means more per person. But looking at the Minnesota financing, it isn't that different. Here is a link to FAQs put out by the Vikings about the stadium.

http://www.vikings.com/stadium/new-stad ... .html#cost

I noticed this page justifying their PSL costs, which will generate less money from fans than the St. Louis PSL plan. They used the old Dome PSL cost -- in current dollars -- to show how their plan compares:

The most recent SBL programs (adjusted for inflation for 2016) include:

Dallas Cowboys (2009) - $651 million
San Francisco 49ers (2014) - $500 million
New York Giants (2010) - $439 million
New York Jets (2010) - $375 million
Minnesota Vikings (2016) - $125 million
* Stadium opening in parentheses

In markets similar to Minneapolis-St. Paul, the following programs (adjusted for inflation for 2016) were utilized:

St. Louis Rams (1995) - $129 million
Green Bay Packers (2003) - $127 million
Chicago Bears (2003) - $97 million
* Stadium opening in parentheses

What about Darlene Green's idea for the CRPP fund? “Regional businesses would be asked to partner with the city to finance the CRPP fund and close the budget gap that would be created if the stadium funding bill is passed,” the comptroller said.

Regional businesses, especially ones that benefit from keeping the Rams, could contribute. Then the city would go ahead and use public money for the stadium as the NFL demands, but backfill the city budget with private money including $$s from County businesses. Would Fox 2 contribute? How much could they raise?

Asking businesses to finance the fund doesn't seem like much of an idea at all.

Get this franchise and this league and this sport out of my city. Don't get give them a dime.

The Rams just lost a sure victory, and the final nail in the coffin was a QB who had been concussed two plays prior (and not removed from the game at all) fumbling the game away.

That pretty much illustrates everything that makes the NFL wrong for St. Louis. Let them go. Rather, TELL them to go.

I like Green's idea of a State-sponsored Sports Authority.

I believe with such an authority in place, this current debacle potentially could have been avoided had such an entity been in place. Although I believe Kroneke is being a dick, now the city is looking at a $1-billion stadium.

Only stadiums/arenas with MAJOR professional sports teams and public colleges with 20K+ students could benefit. The state's major school's MU-Columbia and Missouri State would be included in order to get the Springfield and Mid-Missouri votes.

Such an authority would help to keep sports stadium and major arena issues from becoming a dire need/discussion every 20-25 years in both St. Louis and Kansas City. This gets old. Then the authority could help write guidelines that are practical for all parties.

I sincerely apologize: it wasn't directed at you. It's the P/A placing of the meeting in O'Fallon Park at night on a weekday. Why not hold another weekend meeting during the day?
