Looking at these renderings, I find it hard to fathom, the NFL passes on this stadium, if it is shovel-ready. I guess the challenge will be getting it to that point. Seems like they are on track.

Not to jinx the Task Force, but it has been awfully quiet on the western side of the state lately. I'm sure that will change at some point.

I was sure it was going to be Fanduel Field... I even placed a big bet on it. Too bad it isn't Jamba Juice Field.... affectionately called the Juicer as the Rams turn opponents into pulp.

I'll be interested to hear how the Task Force responds, since Ray couldn't seem to get ahold of them. Ray's numbers don't jive with the Task Force application for state credits at this link, which shows they don't need another $215M from the city to get to $984M. They just need $6M per year. See page 1 and page D6 at the link below. Page D6 shows projected city revenue going way beyond $6M per year, which could be debated, but they are touting that as a benefit for the city -- not money needed for the stadium. The 2nd column on D6 shows the projected city payment, and it never goes over $6M per year.
http://www.stltoday.com/dome-authorithy ... 83e2b.html
I think what's going on here is that the City's direct bond obligation would remain $6 million annually but in addition to that payment out of the general fund it also would direct all (or nearly all) of it's game day tax revenues back to the RSA for construction costs.

If this is correct, that means that the City won't receive any (or very little) of the gameday tax revenue to help offset its bond payments. It would be a huge subsidy and appear to negate the argument that the stadium would generate big tax revenues with time. But again we'll just have to await the details.

Looks like ol' Stan has resolved his cross-ownership issues. This is big since it has been a major point of contention with various owners. Now his wife and son owns the other teams. He owns the Rams. What a sham! This is also notable, due to the fact that Stan has removed another obstacle to LA.

Good article from the Sporting news:

Jerry Jones is clearly on StanK's side. Jerk!

Asked cowboys owner jerry Jones about National car rental, $158 mil st louis stad deal. Responded
"that would buy a lobby"
in an LA stadium

Sounds like a financing bill won't get to BoA until mid-November:

"A bill to fund part of the stadium could be presented to the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen in roughly five weeks."

How can they get the specific information to the NFL, if the City is not going to meet for 5 weeks to vote????! This entire process is such BS! How is it that STL has a minimal amount of time to throw together a new stadium, get financing and have it all boxed up with a pretty bow, for the league, when SD and OAK can take over a decade. I guess the push to LA has put major pressure on us. I am concerned, that the Task Force has not yet been able to pin down all of the financing details. If the NFL would have had Dave present at this meeting, I assume we would not have had the financing in order. That would be a big negative.

^This has been a bad day! (in general)
This news, the Monsanto layoffs, the Granite City Steel plant layoffs and to start it all off, a shooting in South City. Can we just hit the reset button on today?!

^ If the Cubs win tonite I think we'll know it really has been a turd of a day.

Edit... also, going back to the stadium, apparently some NFL owners didn't like the solo go of the naming rights deal, either.

Putting the City general funds on the hook when gameday revenues don't meet the obligations for the second or larger bond doesn't seem acceptable for a city like St. Louis that is physically falling apart in much of the area.

^ I think they want to control the process on that and not letting the public get any fancy ideas about potentially benefiting financially from naming rights.

They want more money than 7.9 million a year.

I wonder why the owners are delaying a decision to November or possibly January. My hope is because they are waiting for the the aldermen to get everything approved and have a legitimate financial package in place. My worry is that its just to eke more money out of the Rams for attendance and then bolt when the season is over.

^ Are they delaying? NFL only said they might move up the previous timeline to the fall, right? Seems like with all the issues going on with actually having to make a decision also makes it tough to go fast with a decision.

This is one hell of a time for Peacock and Slay to start dragging their feet. I hate saying stuff like this, but this is typical St. Louis.

You don't even have to agree with the stadium to get a sad laugh about a big project coming close and then faltering near the finish line.

Just imagine if we are sitting here this time next year, looking back at the stadium and NGA botched and lost. Not to mention, the hot start of the 4-0 LA Rams. Ok... I'm done being negative...

I genuinely don't care (actually, I do care but there's enough emotions on both sides to balance out) if the Rams are gone and we don't have a new stadium. I'm not going to be upset about the status of St. Louis if that is the case.

But it's just weird that all of the sudden they can't get their stuff together. I haven't listened to any of his interviews, but I've seen that Peacock has done a bunch today. He's surely talking up those naming rights and totally dismissing these hangups. But that's getting a little hard to believe.

Five weeks. FIVE WEEKS.

Reminds me of when the NHL was severely pissed off about Jim Balsilie pre-selling season tickets in Hamilton, Ontario before even buying the Nashville Predators.

Shouldn't have jumped the gun there, Dave. NFL owners are a bit harder to rip off than St. Louis taxpayers

I'm not. Go Pirates. Don't want to deal with the stress of a Cubs-Cards series.

McNair also said that San Diego and Oakland also haven't submitted term sheets and STL may still have an edge; he said San Diego's June vote may be too late.

Don't know if this has been posted already, but..................

L.A. deal between Rams, Chargers could be brokered
Posted by Mike Florio on October 6, 2015, 10:09 PM EDT
With Chargers owner Dean Spanos definitely having the nine votes needed to keep Rams owner Stan Kroenke out of L.A. and Kroenke likely having the nine votes needed to keep Spanos out of L.A., the future of the NFL in Los Angeles could hinge on the ability of Spanos and Kroenke to work something out.

I always assumed it was a garage and it makes a lot of sense to help screen out the blight across the street. I also see they put in some structures across 70 -- oops, my bad, farty-far -- which I think are parking structures. Also, I guess that is the complex that includes Shady Jacks depicted along Broadway but it looks spiffed up or something.

I would like to know what portion of the site the team thinks would be available for future mixed-use and what would need to be preserved for core stadium functions.... doesn't seem there is a whole lot available to do a Banks-type development.
