Heavy timber framing doesn't require an additional fireproof coating. It already does that naturally by just being wood. The columns are sized appropriately to allow for a certain depth of charring to occur, leaving the center, un-burnt portion of the column to still maintain its structural integrity. Once the member is charred to a certain amount, it stops burning, forming a protective coating around it.mikenewell48 wrote: ↑Aug 25, 2022wood?
