While visiting St. Louis recently, TexasStar over at Skyscraperpage.com took this picture of the Chaifetz Arena.

I bet the arena pic was just incidental. He wanted proof that he entered the intersection while the light was still yellow. 8)

What ever you wanna say about the arena, the parking/traffic situation was a complete nightmare on Friday before and after the Manilow concert. How do you spend so much on a new arena but don't build another parking garage or hire cops to direct traffic. I got stuck on Market for 20 minutes!!!

AC, thanks for posting. There was a lot of love for STL on that thread. Great to see!

did anyone else notice the huge crowd of people packing midtown last night for SLU's first men's b-ball game in the arena? nice to see so many cars everywhere. by the time i got out of class at 10 though, it was pretty quiet. probably because everyone had to work the next day, but hopefully the added traffic will help the local businesses in the area.

And that was for just a quiet SLU/Harris-Stowe pre-season game that was probably not much more than a scrimage.

Yeah, the building was not full last night - there was probably around 6,000 fans there. I think as our fans get used to finding parking spots and start familiarizing themselves with the various bars and restaurants in the area, it will be great. Last night was the first time I had seen Triumph's sign all lit up, and it is really cool.

The Chaifetz, BTW, is awesome for basketball.

That's was one of Father Biondi's big requests. He wanted all of St. Louis to know when the Billikens win. I think it's neat.
