A good reminder that all of this bike infrastructure will be unleveraged if STL doesn't have a way to get tourist on bikes. It would be nice if STL picked up the bikeshare conversation again. Even a small twenty station system downtown would be incredible improvement.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑May 15, 2025Some slides about Downtown from the Market Street Brickline committee meeting
No, painted medians onlysymphonicpoet wrote: ↑May 16, 2025^^Are they putting back the island in the middle of Market? That would be lovely.
I know this is our longstanding critique of GRG, but was their any timeline talk for the completion of the DT sections?dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑May 16, 2025design
I dunno, New Orleans hasn't had any trouble throwing big parades with marching bands and floats, even though every major street has a large median (neutral ground) running down the middle.gary kreie wrote: ↑May 20, 2025It messes up marching bands in parades.symphonicpoet wrote:^^Are they putting back the island in the middle of Market? Compton bridge is theoretically about to be completely rebuilt with a protected, two way, cycle track included. Will hook right up to the Brickline.PeterXCV wrote: ↑Jul 10, 2025Can't comment on SLU's machinations but I do think that Compton would be an easier bridge to add a protected bike path to than Grand. While its condition is pretty bad atm, I think they could pretty easily reconfigure the bridge to be 3 car lanes + a protected cycle track. I think Grand would be more of a challenge because of the bus pull-outs, the landscaped median and more traffic; it's not as obvious where they could put a greenway/cycle track on that bridge in a way that was truly separated from cars and buses.
I agree. I’m just wondering where more info is on the project and timeline. It’s shown as a partner project so GRG won’t have it. Grand Center?dylank wrote:The Washington segment addition is smart. Hoping that Olive-Lindell gets more love from the city mobility plan. I see the Brickline's next "phase" being a push into south city and an eastern extension toward Gateway South that follows the metro ROW. Maybe we see that lake come back into the picture.
