Is that colored print of Sportsman park?

It appears to be. Withholding opinion until more is completed. Looks a tad off in person but only one panel has been placed.
Went back to BPV tonight to see it lit up. Since I was there earlier, they finished paving a portion of Cardinal Way. It's also interesting to note how the office floors facing Walnut are mostly vacant while the other floors facing the Stadium are pretty much full. I'm not sure where Fox Sports will go in the building but I hope some more tenants come and fill out the building so it doesn't look so dark at night.

Interesting photo. All of the buildings in the distance around the Busch sign, are still there...for now. From left to right you can just see the top of the Mt. Moriah Temple obelisks, Central High School (copper onion-domed building), and the YMCA building (building with the big cornice across the street).Elek.borrelli wrote:Photo of Sportsman's park via the Mo history museum

Maybe, but I don't know how big the non-St. Louis TV audience for the first playoff game will be. It's going to be this Sunday, presumably in the afternoon (the Dodgers NLDS game will almost certainly get primetime scheduling preference) on TBS.pattimagee wrote:I bet they are rushing to get as much done as possible for the first playoff game. Big advertising opportunity with the bigger tv audiences for the playoffs.
^ Atlanta is a pretty massive market and I think playoff baseball generally will get some out of market folks to watch, even if they don't have a vested interest in either of the teams.
Not to mention all the people that will hate watch the Cardinals hoping for a Braves win lol.

Hopefully Cards can pull off at least one win in Atlanta. Otherwise, first playoff game at Busch is do or die on the five game series.

I think the Cardinals can beat the Braves. They're pretty beat up going into the playoffs.

^Well, there's your first win in Atlanta. Two would be even better. I could live with one home game in this series. Of course, not having access to TBS from my current perch in the UK makes me crabby. I really hate TBS.
Me too, better to come home up two games and being in a better position to get into the National League Champion Series. Home games will keep coming if they keep winning. Go Cards.symphonicpoet wrote:^Well, there's your first win in Atlanta. Two would be even better. I could live with one home game in this series. Interestingly enough, the only scenario in which the Cardinals could have home field advantage at any point this postseason is if the Nationals beat the Dodgers and we face them in the NLCS. Every single AL team in the playoffs had a better record than us, so there is no possibility of us getting HFA in the World Series, regardless of who we would face (even if it's the Tampa Bay Rays).dredger wrote: ↑Oct 04, 2019Me too, better to come home up two games and being in a better position to get into the National League Champion Series. Is not home field in the World Series determined by the All Star Game? Which the AL won this year, as I recall. So the AL team will have home field advantage no matter the matchup. Unless MLB has abandoned that.

They did. It’s now deteriorating my the pennant winner with the better season record.symphonicpoet wrote:Is not home field in the World Series determined by the All Star Game? MLB abandoned that rule in 2017. Home field advantage in the World Series is now given to the league champion with the best regular season record - regardless of whether or not they went into the playoffs as a Wild Card - with a few tiebreakers in the event the two pennant winners have identical records. The Cardinals finished the season 91-71. The Tampa Bay Rays had the worst record of all of the AL playoffs teams, 96-66. Since every single AL team in the playoffs had a better regular season record than the Cards, there is no scenario in which the Cards can have HFA in the World Series this year.symphonicpoet wrote:Is not home field in the World Series determined by the All Star Game? ^I'm really not too worried about that. The last time I recall the Cards having home field advantage was . . . 1983? Or maybe 2006. It's been a while. But we've won rather more often than that. It's only a difference of one game anyway, and we do just fine away.
They had home field advantage in 2011.
They won in 2006 without it. In both cases the won the series at home which was awesome!

^I clearly don't remember how the games ran in 2011. Must have been three, two, and two. Or 2006, apparently. Maybe I need to get my memory checked.
It's always been a 2-3-2 format.symphonicpoet wrote: ↑Oct 05, 2019^I clearly don't remember how the games ran in 2011. Must have been three, two, and two. Or 2006, apparently. Maybe I need to get my memory checked.
Cardinals split the first two games in St. Louis, then Albert Pujols had the monster 3HR game in Game 3 in Arlington, the Cards came back to STL down 3 games to 2, came down to their final strike while trailing in the 9th inning of Game 6, tied the game, then came down to their final strike while trailing again in the 10th, tied the game again, then proceeded to win on David Freese' infamous walk off HR in the bottom of the 11th. Game 7 was relatively uneventful in comparison.

BPV Today: The PWC sign is up and glass is starting to be added to the balconies of OCW. Hopefully, they decorate the bottoms of the balconies because the concrete sticks out.
The PwC Pennant Building will receive the World Series Banners fairly soon. Final touches on the lobby area of the office building are ongoing. Broken pieces of glass should be addressed soon as well. The Grand Opening of the building will include a ceremony with dignitaries and more. Details on that should come out soon.Elek.borrelli wrote:BPV Today: The PWC sign is up and glass is starting to be added to the balconies of OCW. One Cardinal Way's balconies should get the black floor dividers but I'm not 100% sure.

Good! That's what I was hoping for.chriss752 wrote:One Cardinal Way's balconies should get the black floor dividers but I'm not 100% sure.
No photo but the PwC Building is getting the World Series signs on the parking garage portion. Between One Life and PwC will be 2011 and 2006. Along Cardinal Way, it will be 1982, 1967, 1964, 1946, 1944, 1942, and 1934. On 8th Street, it will be 1931 and 1926. When they win another World Series, I could see another sign going on the One Life building.
Some photos from tonight. The street lights are going in. You can also see one of the banner signs. It appears they’ll be opening the sidewalk soon. Maybe two weeks from now.
