Back in 2013 the idea of a 24 hour diner was thrown around internally at Cordish, but it never even made it into a true conceptual phase. Was an idea to fill the 1st floor NW corner under what was then Howl.

My guess: a smaller diner concept that will fill a smaller space and either close before midnight or will cater to the drunk crowd after midnight.

Or it could be a large chicken coop and pigpen.  It is a village after all...  🙂

Maybe they combine that with the 24-hour diner concept, add a butcher window and a fun, interactive breakfast preparation experience for the early BPV crowds, sort of like The Fudgery?

^I could get behind an O. T. Hodge's moving back into downtown. If it's going to be a chain, why not a chain with some grit and some local acumen. Some legit bacon grease on the spoon.

Diner concept would make sense. Didn’t think about that.

Courtesy Diner or Uncle Bill's would work for me.

IF it is a diner concept (or any restaurant for that matter), I would place odds at 60/40 in favor of it being a Cordish owned concept.

I'll give it 100% chance it's a Cordish concept.

The Twitter post makes it sound like it is an event. Not an announcement for a restaurant. A breakfast place doesn’t make sense to me anyway. You want to be open all day (and night with a liquor license). Breakfast places are too sleepy.

There's a 0% chance it's a second location of Egg on Gravois... but I kind of wish it was.

Update from this afternoon (8/8/19)

Signage going up for a leasing push. Going to be fairly prominent on TV with the right lighting.

Lots of progress on the curtain wall. Seems like they are finally buttoning up the lower apartment floors.

Great photos, thanks for posting.  I was also down there today -- on the Eight Street side of BPV...massive project.

I also drove by the Aquarium/Ferris Wheel/proposed MLS Stadium site, NGA site, Ranken development area, Foundry site, SLU main campus, SLU hospital site, The Grove, Cortex, 100 Kingshighway/CWE and The Hill.  ALL projects are moving along -- except NGA, which is still just open field.

NO offense to anyone, but photos don't do any of these projects justice.  I strongly encourage people to personally visit all of these sites, if you haven't already. I swear, I've never seen so many construction workers in St. Louis.

Could not agree more.  I drove around last weekend and between downtown and Kingshighway.  I don't think I have ever seen this much construction concentrated in the the city's section of the central corridor.

I forgot to mention I also drove around the Locust Business District -- PACKED with cars, at 1:30 p.m. on a Thursday afternoon!

Agree all, there is an impressive amount of construction going on in our central core right now. I had family in town about a month ago and while driving back from the airport I took I-170 down to Forest Park Parkway, then down Lindell to Kingshighway and over to I-44 to jog by downtown. A couple of different times they mentioned just how surprised they were at how much activity and energy was present especially compared to trips in the past.

Anyone know how well OCW is renting?

I just moved to St. Louis a week and a half ago.

In that time, I've done a bit of exploring and I'm utterly shocked at the amount of development here. I'm also quite shocked by how busy streets and neighborhoods can be.

It seems that I am seeing more cars on St. Louis roads than I have in a long time.

Is anyone else feeling that? Or is it just the newcomer that doesn't know what he's talking about?

^^^ This.  There are literally hundreds of construction workers in the city, all driving vehicles.  There's also a lot of support workers, driving vehicles, too.

I will note, however, all areas I drove through today were busy with employees on lunch breaks and visitors a lot of cars everywhere.  There is certainly an uptick in pedestrian traffic too.

Downtown will probably stay pretty busy over the next couple years when you consider that you can add NGA, (close enough) Convention Center expansion, new soccer stadium with some smaller projects such as Moxy and Midtown Connector (thinking proposed hotel Jeff Ave)  with Jeff ave interchange improvements and streetscapes thrown in for good measure.   Who knows you might get Two Cardinal Way rendering and maybe some movement out of Drury on their Laclede's landing lot(s)

It's not just you. I was in town two weeks ago, mostly in The Loop, Euclid, Forest Park, Botanical Heights, and the southern part of Benton Park. There seemed to be an increased energy though each of those areas. I was struck by how much car traffic, foot traffic, sidewalk diners, and general activity there was - especially around CWE, Forest Park, Skink-D and Loop - even in the middle of the day. Botanical Heights is utterly unrecognizable from what it was 6-7 years ago. It all just really felt busier than I'm used to and this was without Wash. U. in session.

It also seems like city events are really picking up steam.

The Wednesday night concerts at the Missouri Botanical Garden seem wildly popular. People were walking from quite a few blocks away to go to the Garden and catch the show. My wife and I were unable to go because we were running errands, but we drove through the area a couple of times that night and found it to be incredible how many people were attending.

The same goes for Food Truck Fridays at Tower Grove Park.

Which brings me to another point - in addition to seeing more cars driving on St. Louis streets, I'm also seeing more cars parked on St. Louis streets. And that, to me, might be even more encouraging.

Let's hope the Chouteau corridor makes its way back into the convo too because Iron Hill + Bill Odell's Lafayette Square North + Chouteau Greenway, and the teaser for Steelcote's "district" will be huge projects also. And maybe we'll see something from Chouteau's landing soon too.

They are installing glass on the OeLife Fitness Building today. It's a different type of glass. There are little lines in and it's not as reflective as the glass used on the hotel, office and residential portions.

An "egg" chain I would love to see here is Another Broken Egg cafe. We could use a couple of those in our city.
