reminds me of (IIRC) French painter Georges Delany who detested the Eiffel Tower yet ate lunch there almost every day.



When questioned why he replied something to this affect: "It's the only place in Paris where I can look out on the city and don't have to see the d*mn thing." :lol:

:( Such a sad structure at this point. I remember when I was a kid going to the opening weekend and it was so awesome; STL Centre was to be our downtowns savior. Sad to think it failed on such a massive scale.

Sort of. It is at Steins and Water. Steins Broadway Condos Inc. apparently owns it and is letting it fall over because they don't want to deal with it. It's very old, completely off the street grid and the lintels are just gigantic slabs of barely dressed limestone.
