I wasn't too sure about the loft/bedroom in that unit. It can't be more than 5 foot high ceilings.

If I remember correctly there were two proper bedrooms in that unit, plus the loft area.

One of the sales people said that it was mainly for storage, but it could be used as a sleeping area for a guest or child.

This is one of the knockout units on the tour. Surpisingly, I thought this building would be a dog-- not!!! It's cool beyond expectations. I'd live there right now if I could.

This unit is awesome, no doubt. But the problem with doing a display of this nature is that you have no idea what standard finishes in their base loft look like. I want to see what I am getting for my money, not what I can get for a lot more money.

We asked about what was standard while we were there. Ofcourse they were reticent to commit to anything but the sales rep told my friend that the unit would go for about $300k without any upgrades but almost everything was upgraded in the display and it would run for $500k. That is a lot of upgrading!

My favorite part is the ceiling...do all the units have that type of ceiling..or is that one of the upgrades??? impressive to say the least..but at 500k...

There are only two units in the entire building that are even available like this display unit. The rest of the units have ceilings heights which do not allow for this set up. Interesting to note, huh?

Other developers in the market today do have models available showing you exactly what you get in a standard unit. There are only a handful of these out there and they're worth seeing so you can really imagine what your home would be like.

Does anyone know what kind of tile was used in the display unit's master bathroom on the floor and around the tub?

Yah those bathrooms were incredible, especially the mosaic tiles with "glitter" grout! IMO, the nicest loft on the tour!

I'm glad to hear that somebody likes the glitter grout! We ordered it for one of our bathrooms for our unit at the Meridian! We knew that it was risky, but we're hoping that it looks cool and not just over-the-top flashy.

Glitter grout? Does anyone have pics to post of that either pre-post finish? It sounds fabulous!

Went on a loft tour again yesterday and talked with someone at jacob about the development of the retail space, this space is really big and they are already in talks with a gallery, and a classy new york style pizza place. Said the guy is moving from new york to open the place and that it is supposed to be a more upscle racanelli's....

A By-The-Slice place is SO needed downtown. That would be awesome.

I agree. And hopefully it won't be a chain.

Just as long as it's not St. Louis style pizza... A plus if it's NY-style, open on nights and weekends, and we can see them twirling the pizza dough! Is that asking too much?

Agreed. We have enough STL style. Bring on the thick crust! And a window for the pizza twirler would add some life to the street.

Just noticing the pics in that bathroom -

I was reading something by a well respected retailing demographer, who said that fashin trends move in 15 year waves. So, the current trend of dark, sharp edged designs and such that started in 1995 will be out of style by 2010.

Uh oh!

A St. Louis Style Pizza By-The-Slice place would be a gigantic rip off, especially since STL Style is usually square cut.

I'd like to see a Chicago style pizza by the slice! You can feed a family of four for a week on a slice of Black Thorn's pizza! ;)

I've tried Black Thorn. I'd have to say it's more of an "interpretation" of Chicago Syle pizza.... Have you tried Giordanos or my favorite, Gino's East? Oh boy, bring one here!

Pizzaria Della Piazza on The Hill has probably the closest thing to a Chicago-style pizza in St. Louis. It's very good!
