So, it's not like we're losing the C-Suite leadership as much as the postal address for the corporate HQ. Still sucks, but honestly somewhat negligible. I just wonder what will be left here in StL going forward. Seems like the typical operational jobs, IT, legal, HR, etc. will be lost here. It’ sucks no matter how we spin it. ^They did. When Au Bon Pain bought them, as GC said above. But they moved back when the parent company spun Au Bon Pain off to concentrate on the rebranded St. Louis chain.
It appears as if this will not impact other local Steris operations in STL. The Pagedale facility deals with highly specialized chemical & medical supplies, while the other facilities deal with other operations not connected to this plant. When announcing the restructuring, Steris PLC explicitly named only the St. Louis (Pagedale) and Plymouth, Minnesota chemical plants for consolidation. Corporate communications reiterated that the rest of the St. Louis footprint is safe and entirely unaffected by this transition. More jobs losses in the region is bad no matter how we spin it.
So that's including both facilities on Page, the Chesterfield location, and the Sunnen location?
No, that is not correct. Steris said this will only impact Pagedale. The Chesterfield & Sunnen locations do completely different things than Pagedale. The NC expansion is focused on the chemical/medical supplies side of the business, which is side of the business Pagedale is part of.
