Kahn has been rehabbing buildings in JAX, is building a new stadium there. The north riverfront, Landing & beyond would be a much different place if Kahn would have succeeded in getting the Rams.

We might be talking about STL hosting that huge quarterfinal match-up right now. Just another one of the many lost opportunities.
He’s also building a really nice Four Seasons with Residences.

Would be nice if Energizer opened up for this one. That late in the evening, weather wouldn’t be a factor.

Anyone in attendance at the local establishments have pictures from last night?

I was at Friendly's in South City and it was pretty much full.  My friends took pics, but I did not.  It was my first time watching a soccer match.  I have bicycled around Energizer Park, it looks very nice.  So, I bought a couple tickets to the Kansas City game 7/16.

Looks like the hotel apocalypse never happened. Besides Country Club Plaza area  and downtown spiking: everything in KC seems reasonable.

(Except for the one hotel near Arrowhead making nearly $700/night)

Those prices are elevated in most locations, especially those junkers up by the airport. Several business owners over here are upset that the estimates for visitors far exceeded what came. Places I frequent, that are in the city but just outside of downtown, say they had a worse June than normal years.

The Belgians can be mad. I don’t see many Americans upset at this move.

How can anyone still be surprised by the corruption of FIFA officials?

I mean I'm not upset... but regardless of who the president is it's not a great look for the home country to be perceive as being dealt a favor by FIFA officials.

That said I only have so much capacity to be mad about things, go USA lol

I think Trump’s involvement in this has been overstated. Apparently he called Infantino to ask about the rules but never asked them to review anything. This case was already being reviewed. If Trump had the opportunity to take any credit for this, he would.

I certainly understand why people are upset though. FIFA is inconsistent and corrupt.

I don’t care about USA soccer enough. Trump ruins everything and I hope USA chokes on the global stage. I’ll be pointing and laughing.

I want America to earn exceptionalism through perseverance. I want the Olympian that overcomes an injury to win. The solider with one shot. The soccer team that is better when it's best player is benched by a questionable call.

This America is just weak. Even if it wins it all, no one will respect the outcome. If y'all want a cheap win over respect, that's fine. I prefer respect.

We aren’t going to win it all…

This is a FIFA issue, not an America issue. It’s not even a new precedent. FIFA made a similar reversal earlier this year with Ronaldo in the qualifying games.

Trump literally just now at a press conference admitted to calling FIFA himself. FIFA president wore a MAGA hat and awarded him a fake peace prize. This can be a FIFA and America issue.

We already established that Trump called the FIFA President. They were already independently reviewing the call and again, FIFA already has set a precedent of these types of reversals. This is only an America problem if you choose to make it one.

Qualifying stage and knock out are not equivalent.  I can trust you wouldn't feel the same way if the roles were reversed in the knock out phase.  It's not a problem if you choose to ignore it. If you're choosing to ignore it, have fun!

Right. The cult is questioning authority only to those with the gun.

The decision criteria is the exact same between the qualifying and knockout rounds. There is no difference. I’m not ignoring anything. I fully understand FIFA is corrupt. It just doesn’t really have much to do with Trump.
