25% BUT the max a project can get is $25m and this building wouldn’t qualify anyway, building has to be 750,000 sq +

Isn’t half of the allocation for buildings less than 750k sq ft?

It’s a bit confusing. That section since it’s been brought into HB 3231 has changed. Half is for buildings that are 750k ($25m) 25% is for
Main Streets (12.5m) and I guess this would maybe qualify for the final $12.5m but that $12.5m is statewide, no guarantee it would get it

Dang!  That is awesome.  Did we every catch renderings of the proposal and did they announce a flag for the hotel?

With it being Jay Simon, he owns his own hotel brand - Kindler. Has one open in Lincoln Nebraska and has approvals for another one in Downtown KC. I'd be shocked if it wasn't Kindler.

According to city records, the building is still owned by Campo. Are the records just lagging? It seems odd that the scaffolding around the site would have Metropolitan Build branding all over it if they didn't go through with the purchase. No permits for this work show up in the city's database.

City records are usually a month or longer behind.  It sure seems like it has sold.  Exciting project.

As of April, the group who had it under contract has 5 months to decide whether to move forward or not.
