All I've heard from Mayor Jones is "crews are working around the clock".

But where?

Two warm days where we really could have used treatment on major bus routes like 12th Street.

I know on here a lot of posters just automatically think Jones deserves a second term but unless she adequately answers these questions does she even think that?
Jones automatically deserves a 2nd term because she's the best mayor the city had has this century.
How does this logic make any sense? Our choice isn’t Jones vs Harmon/Slay/Krewson. It’s Jones vs Spencer.

Your options:
-The best mayor in decades who has handled the PD exceptionally well, has seen the best GDP Growth for the city probably since the 1990s, and brought the North-South MetroLink back to the table.
-An Alderwoman who has never been mayor in her life.

Real tough choice here bud.

Also so very "illogical"

I don’t disagree with those points about Jones’ performance. I’m Just saying your logic that Jones should automatically get a second term because she was an improvement over her predecessors is illogical.

I mean Krewson was the best Mayor we had this century during her term. Had she decided to run again, would it have made sense to say she automatically deserved a second term based on her comparison to the Mayors before her? Certainly not. We would’ve judged her compared to who she was running against.

^^You aren't helping your candidate with that demeanor.

At least Jones fan boys like  DB are smart enough to steer clear of this thread as there's no way the mayor looks good on here.

If that’s referring to my comment, I am voting for Jones. I just think a rational debate between the candidates actually running is helpful.

Curious legit question
Was the snow removal and in fact the whole process from before the storm up to the writing of this comment any better/same/worse in STL city than St. Louis county/St Charles county?
Did worker pay play a part?

^I said from the get go that all of our leaders--city, county, state--need to examine what went wrong here. Jones has been pretty absent in addressing it IMO. And she's the next of any of them to go before the voters.

She would look a whole lot better without liars like you quite literally making things up.

Here's the thing: Nothing went wrong. You've made this up in your head and now you've actually gaslit yourself to believe that lots of stuff went wrong when in real life nothing went wrong.

He would send you a picture of a math problem showing the answer is 2 and then say actually it isn't.

I guess poor execution of a bad / non-existent plan can be called a success, then?  Put another feather in the cap...I do agree this is a question of standards, as mentioned above.  Some are higher than others.  And I suppose if you expectations are little and there is anything to show then you can never be disappointed.

Completely clear streets 1-2 days after snowfall is a sucess. Your standards are running plows down streets that delivery trucks can barely fit down. You think magic is real, apparently.

Again. The failure to treat bus routes on the two dry warm days five days after the snow ended needs to be explained.

I have too much pride in my city to lower my standards and accept that as the best we can do.

And you find mediocrity acceptable.  Wild world we live in.

It took four days for Forest Park Avenue to have more than a single, icy lane passable.  This is not an alley or a side street.  I refuse to accept your experience as the only valid one on the planet.

While I think the story on Jones travel was overblown you think her campaign team would have realized the best way to fight perception is put her front and center while the city is digging out from this crazy storm.

But nope. We got a mediocre response regionwide and the mayor failing to address it at all in our city.

We deserve better.

Good. Forest Park Ave doesn't need more than 1 lane lmao.

Just stating reality smartass. They don't need to clear every lane of every street. They need at least 1 in each direction and that's it until later. It's pretty basic but not surprising you don't get that. How ***** stupid would it be to clear all 4 lanes in each direction of FPP when there's streets that have 0 lanes clear? What an idiot.

PostJan 15, 2025#149

You want side streets cleared but you also want them to waste time clearing extra lanes on streets that already have lanes clear and you also want them to clear parking lanes but don't want them to put snow on sidewalks.....

Maybe you should go do it yourself.
