Must be a real place of entitlement you can live in to ignore the advancements made, the millions of people protected because of their work, and millions more that have the opportunity to gain those protections, and also the challenges and obstacles standing in the way of further improvement. If you're waiting until things are completely perfect before you'll extend any credit or support (as seems to be the case) then you will be waiting and whining for the rest of your life. I would encourage you to instead put yourself in the shoes of those that aren't as privileged as yourself, those that are vulnerable and that really benefit from even incremental improvements, those that can't afford to wait around until some idealized perfect reality somehow manifests into existence.MarkHaversham wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Weird how they've spent decades "pushing to extend those rights" yet somehow never actually extended them. Leaked data from Priorities USA, this was the main PAC that supported Obama in 2012, Clinton in 2016 and Biden in 2020. This year they’ve most just stayed on running digital ads while FF PAC has been the main Harris pac.
With about the same turnout out as 2020 this is how these margins translate
Michigan
Harris 50.12%
Trump 48.37%
Wisconsin
Harris 50.07%
Trump 48.42%
Pennsylvania
Harris 49.72%
Trump 48.77%

I think entitlement is having the luxury to role-play as if Democrats do any of the work you're pretending they do, while whining that anyone who doesn't vote Democrat just doesn't understand all their amazing accomplishments._nomad_ wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Must be a real place of entitlement you can live in to ignore the advancements made, the millions of people protected because of their work, and millions more that have the opportunity to gain those protections, and also the challenges and obstacles standing in the way of further improvement. So about the same with Biden. Where Trump gains with black voters is those who do not vote but if they do show up is still a net positive for Harris because she wins those 70-30. So if a 100 show up that didn’t in 2020, she nets 40 votes. Race Depolarization has been talked about for a while but it’s been marginal in 2022 mid terms and statewide races in 2023
It's apparent that you don't even begin to grasp how anything works if you think Trump's 4 years were more accomplished than Biden's.MarkHaversham wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024I think entitlement is having the luxury to role-play as if Democrats do any of the work you're pretending they do, while whining that anyone who doesn't vote Democrat just doesn't understand all their amazing accomplishments._nomad_ wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Must be a real place of entitlement you can live in to ignore the advancements made, the millions of people protected because of their work, and millions more that have the opportunity to gain those protections, and also the challenges and obstacles standing in the way of further improvement. No one is whining about how you vote, people are correctly pointing out that you do not describe an accurate reality but instead traffic in alternative facts and an imaginary historyMarkHaversham wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024I think entitlement is having the luxury to role-play as if Democrats do any of the work you're pretending they do, while whining that anyone who doesn't vote Democrat just doesn't understand all their amazing accomplishments._nomad_ wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Must be a real place of entitlement you can live in to ignore the advancements made, the millions of people protected because of their work, and millions more that have the opportunity to gain those protections, and also the challenges and obstacles standing in the way of further improvement. Myself (a man) and my partner (also a man) are really happy with Democrats ability to deliver. That’s not role play. Some of you are crying over taxes and the price of eggs while others are literally fighting to keep the lives they’ve built and are entitled to. I know many LGBTQ couples in Missouri who are even more thankful with dem action. Trump and the Republican party are threats to their lives.MarkHaversham wrote:I think entitlement is having the luxury to role-play as if Democrats do any of the work you're pretending they do, while whining that anyone who doesn't vote Democrat just doesn't understand all their amazing accomplishments._nomad_ wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Must be a real place of entitlement you can live in to ignore the advancements made, the millions of people protected because of their work, and millions more that have the opportunity to gain those protections, and also the challenges and obstacles standing in the way of further improvement. I think you’re lying. “Pragmatic moderates” turned off by the Democratic Party do not vote for the Green Party Candidate. They vote for Trump.goat314 wrote: ↑Oct 19, 20241. I mean you name something Trump accomplished in his 4 failed years as president besides stamping his name on government stimulus checks? I’m going to be the only one to speak up on the matter. Trump is too old too racist & by far the most uninspiring corrupt candidate to rerun for president & in fact should be disqualified to ever be in politics. 34 felonies & counting. Come on give me a break on this rhetoric bullsh*t about Kamala. She has far way more support than people lead on to believe & she’ll win in a landslide. Men don’t wanna see a woman be in power specially a black woman. You probably think Laura clown face loomer is more inspiring. All of you are brainwashed I’ll never vote for anyone who’s more than willing to sellout my country let alone take away my rights on freedom.goat314 wrote:I'm gonna be honest. 2. Goat314 is a more of a pragmatic moderate
3. Goat314 is just relaying conversations that he has heard from others in the black community, which polling and data seem to be corroborating
4. Goat314 does not think Kamala is a strong candidate
5. Goat314 is not going to vote for Trump
6. Goat314 doesn't think pandering and name calling black people will help the Democratic campaign
7. Goat314 doesn't think black people who are conservatives are "sellouts"
8. Goat314 thinks the Biden presidency has been a disaster
9. Goat314 will likely vote Green Party
10. Goat314 thinks Democrats have taken black and young voters for granted way too long and it will definitely bite them in the @$$ come November.
And as it concerns young black voters, particularly men, who are sick of the democratic pandering, it will be magnitudes worse with Trump and the republicans.
We are talking about the Republican Party. The party of the white American bigot. The party which, in its current form, had its coming out celebration in Philadelphia, Mississippi on 8/3/1980 just feet from where the KKK brutally murdered 3 civil rights activists. A coming out party built in the foundation of state’s rights.

Joe Biden literally was the architect of the mass incarceration of impoverished black men. While ironically raising a crackhead son himself, but I guess since Hunter is a rich white guy, he's been able to avoid the "racial jungle" his father used to talk about. Harris has a very anti-black record as well, but I won't even go there.JaneJacobsGhost wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024And as it concerns young black voters, particularly men, who are sick of the democratic pandering, it will be magnitudes worse with Trump and the republicans.

Just threw a match into the MO politics thread and came here to do the same because I'm feeling frisky, but see someone has beat me to it.
If everyone knew how to make their own bibliography, then we'd all be better at vetting our cited sources. 1st person that says "you have to do your own research" will be burnt at the stake. If you make a claim, back it up with facts and evidence, or at least whatever webpage or X thread you read it on.
Happy Friday!

The War on Drugs started before Biden was in the Senate, and the 1994 Crime bill was opposed by Republicans because they said it wasn't harsh enough. You're grasping at straws.goat314 wrote: ↑Oct 25, 2024Joe Biden literally was the architect of the mass incarceration of impoverished black men. The war on drugs started in the 70s. Biden has been in office since 1978. He was a major proponent of mass incarceration and was known broadly as "Jim Crow Joe" because his mentors were known KKK members like Strom Thurmond who authored the 1994 Crime Bill with him. He was also an admirer of Robert Byrd, another known Klan member and former senator. Maybe you should do you research before you make claims about my knowledge on the issue.
Like I said before, I'm not voting for Trump but I'm no longer blindly following the Democrats either. I'm looking at candidates on a case by case basis. In my opinion, Kamala Harris is a weak candidate and doesn't represent my values as a voter. I'm also not the only person that feels this way and it's wrong for Democrats and Obama to come wagging their finger at black men about voting for whoever they want to vote for. Calling us mysognists if we're not enthusiastic about her as a leader and trying to fearmonger us about what Trump will do. That is no longer a winning strategy and the Democrats have been bleeding black voters for some time now, not just this election cycle. Then that Plan for Black Men that she released last minute as a hail mary bomb to placate black men was just disingenious and frankly didn't address the needs or aspirations of most black men I know. I hope in 2028 the Democrats have a better candidate, because what they've been doing after Obama just isn't it.
Pretty sure you already said you're voting for the party endorsed by a Nazi so you can go ahead and stop spewing whatever sh*t you're spewing from decades ago.goat314 wrote: ↑Oct 26, 2024https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics ... arcerationAuggie wrote: ↑Oct 26, 2024The War on Drugs started before Biden was in the Senate, and the 1994 Crime bill was opposed by Republicans because they said it wasn't harsh enough. You are so lost on facts you don't even know what year Biden was elected to the Senate, shouldn't be surprised that you don't know Robert Byrd endorsed Obama in 2008.
You're just such an indictment at the failure of our media and educational system. No clue what you're voting for.
Just finished voting!
For the first time in my life, I actually investigated all judges and it really opened my eyes as to how ignorant I had been in previous elections. With courts playing such a pivotal role in recent hot button political issues, I felt they deserved this level of attention instead of just focusing on candidates and amendments.

It’s a long ballot. Lots of local judge positions to vote on. If you’re concerned with keeping MAGAts and fascists out of the judiciary, look for ties to conservative endorsements or the Federalist Society. Federalist Society membership is a dead giveaway that the judge is a conservative activist who will abuse its power in favor of conservative ideologies.

My guess on the hot button, contested election topics…
- Harris wins, but narrowly. Neither Trump or Harris will win the electoral vote in a blow out.
- Missouri’s abortion, sports betting, and Lake of the Ozarks casino amendments all pass. Sports betting likely has the largest margin of victory of the bunch.
I don’t live in Missouri anymore, so my opinions on those 3 don’t really matter but I don’t see reason to vote those down. If people want to waste their money gambling on a sports team or at the Lake, go for it. Abortion stuff should be left up to the states, and especially their voters, anyways.

Don't forget to vote "No" on 7 - just pointless fluff language about adding verbiage to the state constitution somehow making it illegal for non-citizens to vote (despite already being against the law in all 50 states) in order to get rid of ranked-choice voting in the state.
