Paywalled. What’s the topline gist?

^The short version is he blames city malfeasance and mismanagement for the lost hub. He's proposed a non-binding resolution that calls for transferring management from the commission to another regional entity and asks constituents to contact their legislators. Seems like a bunch of misinformed hot air as far as I can tell. The article also points out passenger counts are up year over year and we have a direct flight to Europe again for the first time in twenty years. And that the city invited the county, St. Charles County, and St. Clair County to appoint members to the current commission as well many years ago. (Though still a minority of members.) The bill hasn't been referred to a committee. I'd be a little surprised if it goes anywhere, and if it did I'm darned curious what he thinks it would accomplish.

Yeah, as with most republicans these days, all talk and no substance. Makes a bunch of claims about service that are incorrect. Claims airlines aren’t getting the full picture of St. Louis economy. False.

99% of voted are unanimous so it isn’t like the other counties appointees are in disagreement over anything

Yeah, sounds like a nothingburger. If he wants more flights or a hub, pass some state subsidies and legislation that supports the city and region so the population grows.

Thanks.

Not sure if this is it, but always intrigued by the Twins Cities approach to their airports.

Doubt we’d see thinking that big coming out of our local politicians.
