The Board of Adjustment will consider zoning variances for a homeless shelter at 110 Sidney St. Cruel to have people living so far from anything in a polluted industrial area, but it might be far enough away from NIMBYs.
10 min walk to Jack Nolen's is pretty great in a lot of people's eyes. And by the looks of it a caterer works out of that building, so pollution ain't that bad. Ideal? Probably not. Cruel? No way.
Industrial sure no question, but is that area more polluted than Soulard?quincunx wrote: ↑Jan 31, 2024The Board of Adjustment will consider zoning variances for a homeless shelter at 110 Sidney St. Cruel to have people living so far from anything in a polluted industrial area, but it might be far enough away from NIMBYs.

I would be willing to bet the air is cleaner there than the front yards of people who live adjacent to highways (like myself)

Reading the original article about their attempts to open a shelter filled me with rage. glad to see the bozo neighbors were told to get lost.
