Former Charlie Gitto's building downtown on market for $575K.

There's very few buildings left downtown this size. I imagine there used to be 100s perhaps 1000s. A shame.

I'm not rapid for demos but this is one that could greatly simplify the redevelopment of that block.  If the redevelopment was done to make the REX more viable  then i guess I'm for it (assuming protections are in-place to assure the project actually gets done).

I would expect the garage and Gittos to go and a new garage to be built in the block with entrances on the North and south sides.  Apartments over street level retail flanking the east and west sides.  Gill building preserved integrated into the project.  If you keep Gittos any garage portion of the development has to workaround it and that makes it just a lot more complex.  Gittos is a nice building (i especially like the glazed brick but REX and Gill are treasures.

Former Pi space getting some work done in the interior. Maybe reopening or new spot? I saw sugar fire hats but someone painting a pizza slice mural

Is something happening with the old Mike Shannon's? They were cleaning up the outside, and the inside lights were on. Couldn't tell if anything was happening in there.

Went to Idolwolf (21C Museum Hotel) this weekend.  Far exceeded all of my expectations.  Everything we ordered was delicious and the space/bar/atmosphere was incredible.  As a former member of that Y, I was blown away with how they used the great bones of that building to transform it into the piece of art it is now.

What an incredible addition to downtown west.   And love seeing all the building lit up at night down that strip of Locust now.

If only Tin Can would have survived...
Seconded. I miss Tin Can. At least I still have my golden coozie.

One of my favorite buildings in Downtown, oddly.  I thought it was a bit shameful to abandon it for Vangel's on Manchester.

I'll wager a beer that it will be cooked pizza and refrigerated beer.

Depends if hot means temp or flavor.
It could be spicy pizza (cooked or uncooked) and frozen beer.

Actually last year they announced ambitions for expansion via urban stores that are “digitally formatted”. Haven’t seen that gain a ton of traction though.

“Besides, he adds, the Sugarfire location at 605 Washington Avenue is consistently one of the top-grossing restaurants in the chain. “The customers are there. There’s plenty of security,” Johnson says. “I would open all my restaurants downtown if I could.”

Also we could be hearing soon about a backfill to the recently closed Range space on Olive

Great news.  I wonder how the Business Journal will spin this to a negative piece on downtown.

How about...
"Established St. Louis businesses STILL not choosing 'Downtown' for new office jobs."

You know cause this is in 'Downtown West'...
