I don’t 100% trust the February number. February usually is down but that big a drop off is surprising. 65% would have been more believable but even if it’s 53% just for one month I’m not all that concerned.

I was expecting Jan/Feb to be abysmal as I’m sure LH was too. Jan was better than I thought. That’s about what I figured Feb would like, just don’t like seeing the actual number.

I think Feb reflects more ‘need to travel’ vs ‘leisure travel’. And if I’m flying anywhere during Feb it’s South or West Coast.

Great to see another gate added to customs.

^Neat trick to add E24 to customs. Surprising to see all of this moving forward while the concourse replacement is also moving forward. Glad to see there's enough demand for such ambitious temporary projects.

Southwest spending 60 mil for something with such a short shelf life just shows how committed they are here and want to grow it.

The E24 to customs thing is something I thought they might do ever since Lufthansa came. Happy to see it actually happening. Hopefully it means more internationally from Southwest.

Yeah, it’d like to see a San Jose Costa Rica flight. Even if seasonal. (I know I’ve beat that dead horse before) Does another dedicated gate relieve congestion? Add capacity? A bit of both?

A lot of India and Middle East travel happens during JAN. Our LH flight has almost perfect coordination with the Middle East/South Asia bank. I think that might have helped us. I'd be curious if there is also a similar culture for Bosnian visits among members of that community in January.

I think SJO is a tough sell. The destination lacks all inclusive resorts, which provide a lot of kickback to the airlines. I understand that the charm of SJO is that it is a city and not a tourist trap, but there probably are better targets for Latin American non-all inclusive cities that are attainable for STL such as MEX and Guadalajara. We just made progress on this goal with the SJU flight

Admittedly, I’m biased as my brother in laws wife is from Costa Rica, beautiful place and they always have to connect through Atlanta or Miami…

I’ll gladly swap that out for a Copa Airlines flight to Panama.

So DOT cut back the delay on international loads to 3 months to match domestic numbers

LH Frankfurt
JAN 72%
FEB 53%
MAR 81% - I miscounted flights on my customs numbers last night so it threw this one off.

Air Canada Toronto
JAN 60.66%
FEB 65.50%
MAR 78.72%

AA Cancun
JAN 91.21%
FEB 91.57%
MAN 92.15%

Southwest Cancun
JAN 94.74%
FEB 96.00%
MAR 95.10%

Southwest Montego Bay
MAR 87% (94% outbound)

Southwest Punta Cana
MAR 92.5% (96% outbound)

Frontier Montego Bay
FEB 39.95% (first inbound was about empty)
MAR 56.59% - maybe this is why it looks like it probably won't be back next year. woof

Frontier Punta Cana
JAN 88.54%
FEB 94.67%
MAR 89.77%

Frontier Cancun
JAN 89.11%
FEB 92.93%
MAR 92.56%

SJO averaged 13 passengers a day from STL last summer. MEX was 16. GDL was 6

It won’t be dedicated if you mean only for international, it will still be used for domestic 90% of the time. But it will relieve congestion and add capacity, especially if a widebody is blocking 2 gates. As Lufthansa adds more flights it will be a bigger issue.

Adding this here also. I can’t imagine how this wouldn’t strengthen STLs case for an additional EU flight. Let’s hope Greater STL is on it and Bunge is ready to incentivize.

Bunge to merge with Amsterdam firm Viterra https://www.bizjournals.com/stlouis/new ... ml?ana=maz

The Cardinals flew a Virgin Atlantic charter from DC to London. If they have the same coming back, there should be a rare Virgin A350 coming to Lambert (or City airport) on Sunday night. I'm not enough of a planespotter to know how to search for something like that.

You can go to Flightradar24 or flightaware after the game and type in STN-STL. It should show up at some point after the game. I assume it will go to Stl in this case.
