Did this project die? Crescent still owns the site but it does appear they've moved the shop to Fenton...

Pumped to see that this is still alive and that it's about to start.

That's a small footprint for 518 beds. You love to see it. Now we just need to get some movement on the empty lots across the street.

I will say, I really appreciate the honesty of the pedestrian experience in the rendering.
Lost a floor and slightly redesigned. Good thing it didn’t die.
Looks like they may have shaved off a level near the base. Both renderings seem to indicate five levels of apartments above the lobby/amenity levels.

I know we all love the density, but doesn't this feel a lot like the much-loathed Standard across the street?

The Crescent signage has been down for a couple weeks. figured it was still going.
Yes. the small flat windows and staggered facade feel like a mirror to the substandard.
i liked the random green design.

I don't mind it being similar to thr Standard. Never hated it and it serves an important purpose for SLU students in particular

^ Totally agreed.
It serves a purpose, and I'm going to appreciate the added density.

^ And let's not forget more property taxes for schools and city services. (The Standard may not be beautiful in design, but it generates considerably more in property tax than the much bally-hood Albion will for the first 10 years after its built... not sure of The Marshall's projected assessment but presumably it also will generate more in property tax than the Albion during its abatement period.)
And work may be starting soon: Aptitude now owns the site and the first permits have been applied for. Demo of existing structure(s) and $3.6M for footing/foundation.

^Awesome - excited to see these two buildings being built right next to each other! How cool would it be if that catty-corner lot were to get a residential...
…with a CityTarget on the bottom floor.

A CVS would work nicely in its place.
