This just makes me think of the Fatted Calf in Clayton... one hell of a burger.  *salutes (RIP because it closed a decade ago)

Brasserie has one of the best burgers in St. Louis in my opinion, even if it is not the kind of place where a burger would be one's first choice. The Block in Webster also makes a great burger.
I agree that there is no shortage of burgers, might be one of the most common menu items across all restaurants in the region. If you are looking for a cheap burger, Courtesty Diner and the B-Side are pretty good for what you pay.

Olive and Oak in Webster is my favorite burger in town.

Carl's Drive-In. Love me a good smash burger.

Frank Cusamano is always raving about the burgers at Carls.

His restaurant show on Thursday on 590 always has good recommendations. Talking about the advantage of a dry aged steak today .

You did not have to reopen that wound.

Mac's Local Eats has a fantastic burger if you can stomach controversy.

Has anyone been to that Stacked place in Carondelet? Is that one any good?

I've been a few times. I honestly don't think it's anywhere near as good as a lot of people have made it out to be. Same with Layla in The Grove.

Olive and Oak and Brasserie are both places you wouldn't necessarily expect to have great burgers, but they have absolutely fantastic burgers.

Repeating that Carl's Drive-In is the best burger around (with a nod to @jacob_rb_15 and @pdm_ad for their mentioning it previously). Let's all recognize that Carl's is fully the inspiration for Shake Shack's burgers and hot dogs, as well as that Ted Drewes' is the inspiration for their milkshakes. Danny Meyer has said so himself. The reason that restaurants around the country have been going stupid on "smash burgers!!!" for so long is because Danny Meyer was in Manhattan, missed Carl's burgers, and started Shake Shack. It was, and is, hugely successful, and chefs around the country followed his lead. Simple as that.

Carl's is delicious. I recommend getting a triple cheeseburger with onion rings and a large root beer, followed by a nap and a Prilosec.

Chuck-A-Burger, O'Connell's, Tucker's... good times.

Earlier today I was reading this thread and it inspired me to drop into Carl's for lunch - and this was before gone coporate's last post - I had a triple cheeseburger, onion rings and a large root beer.

It's good.  I'd probably put it a click below the other places in this thread though.

And then I went and had a double smashed cheeseburger from Winslow's for dinner last night.  Very good, too.  My acid reflux is doing surprisingly well today.

I stopped by Farina's downtown for lunch today. The food was great; I think I'll have to make it a regular lunch spot. It's not in a bad location, so hopefully they'll be able to draw in some more foot traffic when they get their liquor license in another couple weeks. Apparently since the Reign debacle the city's been taking a lot longer to grant them.

Food is excellent there.   City LL laws are dumb and need to be reformed, it should take a week to get a license and not 3 months

I don't believe I've mentioned this to the chat before, but there's a quesabirria taco stand by the name of Tacos La Jefa at the Urban Eats food hall in Dutchtown that is absolutely fantastic and that I can't recommend enough.

The only bad thing about the place are the hours; they're only open on weekends -- 11-5 on Saturday and 10-3 on Sunday.

They join Melo's Pizzeria in Benton Park as one of my favorite restaurants with terrible hours. For Melo's, 10:30-3, Thursday through Saturday.

I saw a rumor on Reddit this morning that the former Locoz Tacoz spot in Tower Grove South may be getting a replacement.

It'd be a second location for The Stellar Hog, and it would allegedly specialize in barbecue and barbecue tacos.

Stacked is solid, but agree with the other poster that it is a notch below the other suggestions in this thread.
Tacos La Jefa is great. Fully agree on the annoying hours (+ agree with Melo's annoying hours, a shame as they make some of the best pizza in STL).

Olive and oak as someone mentioned is solid. I like Five Star also.

I figured that was coming. FOH needed it as it was very 1985 in layout and age of stuff. Plus I’d heard the kitchen was one of the worst around.
