I got permission to share these images. Know that this was a concept and the design would've changed over time, but it's certainly better than that monstrosity currently chosen.
I do like that. It's a nice design. I hope they can use the concept somewhere else for something.

Sent a message to Coatar about it, not sure what leverage he has.  But it appears on surface level there wasn't any sort of community engagement, correct?

This is a failure from the top down on mantra and messaging for the soul of Downtown.  Just another dead block for cars, signed away for decades.

There was no community engagement and there didn't have to be for this. I doubt Coatar can do anything about this though.

Of course there didn't 'have to be'.  Which is disappointing as the city can piss away public dollars as they please and not even consider public input as if they've proven themselves to have the best implementation of urban planning.

It may not have been required and it may not do much anyway, but I figure we (or anyone concerned about this) can at least annoy them and make their lives just a little bit harder for not doing so.

Idk if this will happen but there is discussion about adding residential units to this garage
The 1200 parking spots are already subscribed

It should happen because with the momentum that I feel downtown is on the verge of capturing, this garage as planned would be an outright abomination and embarrassment.

Anyone have a floor plan or space per floor number? Understanding if this means 3 floor reduction or a 4 floor reduction (or more) would be awesome. Still going to suck as a development overall though unless they add at least first floor activation.

Can we get that previous proposal back on the table then?
