My first thought was a community college. UMSL seemed a second close possibility. But so far nothing. Definitely has that 70s institutional feel to it. Nice mass to it. Good bones. Probably a pleasant place to exist.

Nope. A bit closer in.

I've never actually seen any more of the building, as the site is large and fenced-off. I know what it used to be, but I can't even find any images online. Like SP, I'm very intrigued by this place.

I know this is slightly off-topic, but I found it when looking for the above building. What is the giant parking lot at I-70 and I-170?

https://www.google.com/maps/place/St.+L ... 90.1994042

I always see it from Metrolink, and I wondered what it's for. It seems to be disconnected from everything else.

Edit: the address you see in Street View (4455 Springdale Ave) shows up in search as belonging to Enterprise. But County tax records doesn't show that particular address at all. In fact, they show nothing on that side of the block (but across the street belongs to the City of St. Louis)

It’s owned by the City of StL. Possible NFL Stadium Location?

Yep. My post was Federal Mogul's old plant in Welston. I'd love to see some pics of the administration building if anyone can find some.

Not that address. Those are all even addresses, across the street.

And let's hope not :)

It's not, and while it's next to two interstates, there really isn't great site access from either.  Someone brought this up in the NFL thread, and there's some longer answers there but tl;dr a stadium here would require buying a lot of the residences to the east to accommodate all the parking required.  Plenty of better sites in the city or county.

“The Airport Commission also gave the first approval to a revenue agreement with Enterprise Leasing Company of STL, LLC for the use of a 17.8 acre paved parking lot at 4401 Springdale Ave. The five-year agreement (plus a five-year option) amounts to $120,000 per year in new revenues. The agreement must also be finalized and approved by the City Board of Aldermen.”

Oh, snap! When I worked summers for St. Louis County some *mumble aherm* nondescript period of time ago I walked behind that killing mosquito babies along the TRRA. In spite of which I would never have recognized it. The power poles remind me of the ones in Shrewsburry along the Frisco River Sub, so I looked down there, but . . . nope. I did not recall that there were similar ones in Wellston. Great catch Framer! It's a gorgeous old building.

Was going to say that it was disused airport parking from the days of the hub. If you look at aerial photos from the 80s and 90s all of that is absolutely packed. (As are all the lots surrounding the old Phantom works on the north side of the field.) Was a hopping place at one time.

Here's the satellite view. Such an interesting building. I'd love to see/learn more.

Oops...I'm a moron and didn't have the slightest idea that's how the game was played :)

OK, I've got one. It's one I don't have a picture of it personally but had seen it for years and finally looked it up, and am pasting courtesy of Google Street View:

Looks to be the Castle Park Apartments in Normandy. Anyone know if the fire damage is properly repaired?
