What I'd heard about his falling out with Tamm Ave. Bar is that it involved sexual harassment of some sort.
That's not a light accusation, and I heard it second hand, but it's what I heard from a guy wearing a Tamm Ave. Bar shirt.
He wouldn't tell me much, but made it clear that there was a moral reason behind Tamm Ave. Bar wanting Mac's Local Eats to hit the streets.
I've eaten Mac's Local Eats just once since hearing this, and I felt kind of guilty doing it as I don't like supporting potentially toxic members of society.

To have this happen twice an insanely giant red flag. Had no idea. Please strike my request to have him come to CWE from the record. I'll look elsewhere for the smashburger fix.
Yes, the space and operation requirements you mentioned almost sounded like you were describing the Food Hall. That said, I'm not sure what the Food Hall hours are going to be. That could be a problem.soulardx wrote: ↑Jul 29, 2021Not totally following but I suppose The Foundry may fit the bill.urbanitas wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2021If only there was a space somewhere in the central corridor, easily accessible for all, with plenty of space and seating to accommodate long lines and waiting for your order, without all of the overhead, wait and cleaning staff required at a brick-and-mortar storefront...soulardx wrote: ↑Jul 28, 2021The current operation model of Mac's seems to demand a large space with room for long lines. They don't have a traditional wait staff - only a food window - so there can be like 50 people in line at one time. If they keep that model and Covid remains, they can't set-up in a "normal" restaurant space. They need room for long lines, which is why I thought their current spot was very good.
Agree with the Soulard/BP vibe and my head went to the vacant Joanie's pizza space or the vacant Johnny's space. Again though, no room for lines unless they change to a more traditional sit-down restaurant model.
Be a superb way to continue the region’s musical chairs game of restaurants/entertainment/retail chasing the exact same amount of disposal income.
Yep, I can see that. As seen in my axe grinding, I'm just not a fan of The Foundry, but it's really hard to imagine a better spot for Mac's and its current operational model.urbanitas wrote: ↑Jul 29, 2021Yes, the space and operation requirements you mentioned almost sounded like you were describing the Food Hall. Per Mac's Instagram it seems they are refusing to leave the space and plan to continue to operate there.

Saw that. says he "always intended to honor their lease." This seems destined to get uglier.

The *Alleged* the reason he got the boot from Tamm is disturbing

Nomad, the restaurant that replaced Mac's at Tamm Ave. Bar.

To be honest I lost patience for that place after Covid hit. Clearly, the long lines are part of the whole shtick, but why should I wait in my car for an hour while I can drive an extra 15 min and go to Stacked in Carondelet?
Because they're two different styles of burger. Stacked is also a mess whereas Mac's is a well packaged protein delivery device.
Also, the car drive thru was the best iteration for me so far since they first opened in Tamm, before they started getting Instaglam

LOL. exciting and dynamic Chesterfield!According to Diane Schoen, vice president of marketing for Brew Hub, those details have yet to be finalized. “We plan on reopening in West County. There are so many exciting new developments going up in Chesterfield, and we want to be a part of that growth,” she said in a release.

I doubt that Brew Hub will be the last place to flee towards downtown Chesterfield. I'm curious how Mac's will do in its new space, I've anecdotally seen lines mostly disappear since everything came out.
"downtown Chesterfield"? Is that very far from "beautiful downtown Ballwin"?GoHarvOrGoHome wrote: ↑Sep 27, 2021I doubt that Brew Hub will be the last place to flee towards downtown Chesterfield. It's starting to take shape. Ruth's Chris just moved into a brand new 5 over 1 right on the edge of the Wild Horse Creek site with another project already in progress. Might not be part of the official project(s) but the gears are turning.
Even if it ends up scaled back, Downtown Chesterfield and the Wild Horse Creek project will be huge draws for retail and dining. Many will be additional locations, but don't be surprised if it steals some businesses altogether.

^ I’ve seen it all. My office is right there. It’ll all get built, without question, I wasn’t saying otherwise. It’ll probably get done on time too. Just that if they’re (the Brew House) gonna reopen quickly, it won’t be there. If they’re gonna take some time off and wait then they could slip into a new space in the forthcoming new buildings.

If Pearl is developing that, their track record in the region over the past couple years has been pretty damn poor.

I wouldn’t overthink her use of the term “Downtown Chesterfield” as I would bet that most people don’t know or really about what’s being proposed under that official name. I’m assuming she just means Chesterfield along the main strip - with my own personal guess being they open up in The District. They’d do very well there with Top Golf, Main Event, The Factory etc being right next door.

Formerly BellaVilla, who was formerly JJG; Tapatalk is killin me.
At any rate, a couple of observations:
1. Brew pub wasn’t good. It won’t really be missed. Hopefully the space can be filled quickly.
2. Surprised BrewPub is touching someone as toxic as Mac. They must be starving customers. (They’ve been empty every time I was there)
3. Another example of why StL needs to stop allowing suburban style development. We will never be able to out-County the County.

They're not. Mac's is taking over their current space and they're moving out. Just a shifting of space, no partnerships involved.JaneJacobsGhost wrote: ↑Sep 29, 20212.
