I think this could be moved to the Restaurants thread, but that said, I don't think anyone, including Mac, knows where the next incarnation of the restaurant will be.

I know that Mac left Tamm Ave. Bar under not the best of circumstances, and it seems like things have possibly been repeated here. Odd that the Bluewood Brewing statement would have best wishes for the employees of the company, but not for Mac or the company itself.

Wouldn't be shocked in the least if Mac has burned another bridge.

This guy would make a killing at the corner of 13th and Pine. It’s already set up and built out (the note bar closed when covid started). With over a 100 events a year at enterprise/Stifel it was packed on event days and with so many tourists downtown it can do well on none event days.

I noticed that well wish wording for the employees as well.  They crush it, and I will go to Bluewood (they will lose business I imagine) substantially less often without MLE there, so this must have been a bonfire of a bridge burning.

I never went to the Note, and couldn't speak to how well the space would work for Mac's Local Eats, but I'm hoping Mac will finally move out of bars and into his own space - preferably downtown.

I went to the Note a few times before Blues games (and during the Stanley Cup run) and it was always packed.  Decent food, not a bad space at all.  Not surprised the Note couldn't hang on with Covid decimating not only downtown events but nearly two hockey seasons too.

I know people that will drive from St. Charles to get a burger at Mac's.  He just needs to get a storefront instead of trying to piggy back off of an existing bar.

All that overhead would likely interfere with his busy Phish tour schedule. 😂

Frank Cusamano used to rave about their burgers, never been.

Would love to see them downtown, but doesn't exactly scream their sort of vibe.

Mac's brand is prolly popular enough to setup shop literally anywhere in STL and will bring crowds.  Wonder if his biz model would succeed as a standalone brick n mortar restaurant.

If he doesn't choose downtown for his next location, I'd love to see him take one of those empty corner storefronts in a neighborhood like Benton Park, Fox Park, or Tower Grove East, because I think that would work really well.

Old Ernesto's spot would be choice imo.  Definitely think the Benton Park - Soulard area fits his style.  i wouldnt mind if he came to CWE and took over wildflowers or 1764 locations

A few things, mostly conjecture by someone not in-the-know....

Arzola’s Fajitas & Margaritas is going into the Ernestos space: https://www.stlmag.com/dining/arzolas-f ... nton-park/

The current operation model of Mac's seems to demand a large space with room for long lines. They don't have a traditional wait staff - only a food window - so there can be like 50 people in line at one time.  If they keep that model and Covid remains, they can't set-up in a "normal" restaurant space. They need room for long lines, which is why I thought their current spot was very good.

Agree with the Soulard/BP vibe and my head went to the vacant Joanie's pizza space or the vacant Johnny's space.  Again though, no room for lines unless they change to a more traditional sit-down restaurant model.

Ernesto's already being filled by Arzolas: https://www.stltoday.com/entertainment/ ... 89be5.html

See that, I leave BP for CWE and I'm already out of the loop.  Great get for the old hood, though.

I don't know why, but they feel like a good fit for Dogtown near Tamm & Clayton...

Speaking of Mac's Local Eats, and of Tamm & Clayton, has anybody been able to try Nomad, the restaurant that moved into Tamm Ave. Bar after Mac's Local Eats moved out?

The pictures of the food look incredible, including the burgers. Pastrami sandwich seems to be the go-to there.

If only there was a space somewhere in the central corridor, easily accessible for all, with plenty of space and seating to accommodate long lines and waiting for your order, without all of the overhead, wait and cleaning staff required at a brick-and-mortar storefront... 🤔

I would think at this point he has enough revenue to buy a place, and a loyal following that will follow him wherever - I could see a buildout somewhere in Midtown corridor

Not totally following but I suppose The Foundry may fit the bill.

Be a superb way to continue the region’s musical chairs game of restaurants/entertainment/retail chasing the exact same amount of disposal income.
