I can grab some pictures on Sunday evening. Last time I was in C was 8/8. The walls around the moving sidewalk shown in the previous picture was down, and the sidewalk was functional. The other 2 still had temp walls around them (The 2 that previously were accessible by the old TacoBell and C27/28)
The current "end of the terminal" is right at the beginning of the large skylight. You have to wonder why the rest of C wasn't renovated and opened. There really isn't much more than 30-50ft left. I don't remember their being any restrooms or really anything else down there that would drive up any significant costs. Just paint and new carpet. Would give some great views out the end windows.
Hoping this leads to more concessions in C. By year end Spirit will be doing 9 daily flights. I think I recall in one of the press releases back when Spirit started they hinted at adding a 2nd gate soon.

Pensacola is getting cut to seasonal, ends when Tampa/Phoenix/Fort Myers start, so it will only be 8 flights max. I went thru the schedule and they have it set up to get by with only 1 gate timing wise.pmt257 wrote: ↑Aug 27, 2021I can grab some pictures on Sunday evening. Last time I was in C was 8/8. Right now it’s set to come back in January so we will see if that changes or if we get more adds. I think they have another gate ready for when they want it.
Floor plans for of the end of C. Like mentioned. It’s pretty open.

Obviously that portion still needs to be air conditioned and there are no bathrooms or concessions down there so I wonder why they go through the effort to put up a large wall rather than renovate the whole thing at once.pmt257 wrote: ↑Aug 27, 2021You have to wonder why the rest of C wasn't renovated and opened.
Are they really hurting that much for cash? I can't imagine replacing the carpet and painting the ceiling white is too expensive.

20 years after 9/11: Will we ever stop taking our shoes off at airports?
Will this be the case 20 years from now?

Same, and it is the best value ever. Let's say, for even casual travelers, you take 2 round trip flights a year. Over 5 years that is 20 total flights. That means for $4.25 a flight you can bypass that hour long line, not empty out your carryon, and leave all your clothing on.
I remember thinking: If you walked up to anyone in that security line and said 'for $4 you can skip this bull#$#%' I think 75% would pay. So I'm not sure why they don't. But I highly recommend you do.

If you fly regularly for pleasure or business, then it is even cheaper. pre pandemic i was taking 30-50 flights a year, so was literally paying $0.50 per flight for this benefit that makes travel smoother by an order of magnitude.
^^^ To add to TSAPre Check discussion, getting Global Entry is only $15 more at $100 and includes the benefits of TSAPre Check. If you take any international trips at all it's definitely worth it. Last time I came through passport control at O'Hare it took only a couple minutes vs. what would've been over an hour without it.
The mobile passport app is also great if the airport you are traveling to offers it. Fill out the info as the plane lands while you wait to deboard. You can skip all the customs lines and just show your phone screen to the agent by the exit door and leave. It is free._nomad_ wrote: ↑Sep 14, 2021^^^ To add to TSAPre Check discussion, getting Global Entry is only $15 more at $100 and includes the benefits of TSAPre Check. Global Entry is definitely worth the cost. I got it right before the pandemic so have only just recently used it. Just put my face in front of a machine, got a printout and was never asked even one question by anybody in immigrations or customs. That avoiding interrogation is by far worth the cost. They treat you like a criminal half the time depending on your origin and luggage.
The problem with Global Entry is that it's infinitely harder to get an appointment for an interview. PreCheck appointments are readily available at dozens of places in every city. Global Entry requires you to go to an airport, and you'll have to make it your job to hunt down the rare appointments and/or maybe fly somewhere, or just wait months. The next available appointment at Lambert is two months out.

The wait was 6 months when I first did it 7 or 8 years agoeee123 wrote: ↑Sep 15, 2021Global Entry is definitely worth the cost. I got it right before the pandemic so have only just recently used it. Has there been any news regarding the STL - YYZ flight coming back?
I noticed that a AA STL-BOS and BOS-STL direct flight had been cancelled (I had it booked for December).

Nice to hear some fairly positive commentary. And C looked fairly busy. Not stupid packed busy as in TWA days, but at least steady. It's past time to give AA another shot, I suppose.matguy70 wrote: ↑Oct 24, 2021Came across a few new videos from STL International on youtube. Good stuff!
