I'm surprised nothing's leaked, trademarks, copyrights, something of that sort.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑May 14, 2020It was suppose to be in the march-april time frame but covid happened and i think its postponed indefinitely, i think the really want to do it in front of a big live crowd instead of a live stream which would be lame9ine Runner wrote: ↑May 14, 2020Any idea when a team name might be announced?
Well, as long as it isn't Spirits, I can wait.

Exerpt:
No. 2: What about the club’s name, crest and identity?
In a world without COVID-19, this probably would’ve been unveiled by now. In reality, it’s hard to say where it stands given the organization’s decision to shelve the matter until life returns to something resembling normalcy in their region.
“Given the current environment, we don’t feel it’s appropriate to make any major announcements or updates until our city and region has started to recover,” wrote Kindle Betz.
“While it’s been amazing to see the continued excitement around St. Louis’ new MLS team, we want people to be able to focus on things that are truly important – the health and well-being of their families, friends and the community.”
Setting aside news on those two fronts, Kindle Betz and the entire MLS4THELOU group have lots in front of them, including some key decisions to make and relationships to build, over the next two years. Their market, arguably the richest in American soccer history, is unique among recent MLS expansion arrivals.

A few from the HQ and practice fields side. Idk what they’re planning on doing with the hill they’re building. I’d think that some of that will be used as fill and rest away?

^^They'll need plenty of fill to level out the location of the proposed practice fields and the extension of 22nd Street south of Market to Clark.

Something I didn’t notice until today but there is a huge module complex south of the FBI HQ and next to Granger that’s been set up for mls stadium construction crews.

-RBBAt this point ... there has been no announcement about a possible name for the square shaped stadium.
As long as the best possible construction/service quality and value are being obtained for the project, it shouldn't matter what color or gender of contractor is being used.Techstl wrote: ↑Jun 20, 2020St. Louis Major League Soccer Stadium Workforce Construction Update

Since they are getting incentives, they are required to meet the MBE requirements.
^^ Minority participation is a legal requirement...so actually it does matter.
This is standard in all American cities for large projects that receive some level of public incentive. If minorities and women owned business had an equal shot from the start...you’d be right. But this is America.

You’re absolutely correct. And for far too long the job just went to the white firm regardless of quality or value. Hence why these minority participation goals and benchmarks are needed.stl_dan wrote: ↑Jun 24, 2020As long as the best possible construction/service quality and value are being obtained for the project, it shouldn't matter what color or gender of contractor is being used.Techstl wrote: ↑Jun 20, 2020St. Louis Major League Soccer Stadium Workforce Construction Update

That is definitely one way of achieving fairness and accountability.dbInSouthCity wrote: ↑Jun 24, 2020You’re absolutely correct. I guess this gives more time to overpay for the parking lot.

Do we need this posted in multiple threads? Would you delete it in one or the other please? Thanks!
^ Wasn't sure of the etiquette. Kind of thought this was more for actual sports discussion, and the other was more for the development site discussion. As you wish.
Not at all surprised. Sacramento and Charlotte are also getting delayed a year.
Work on the stadium and team hub will continue full steam ahead so I’d say it’s not much of a worry.

The team now won't start play until the 2023 season, instead of the original plan for 2022:
