Anyone who still supports these f*cking crooks (aka the Blues ownership) after this bullsh*t simply doesn't give a f*ck about this city or... i don't know... being a decent, honest person. Enjoy your sportsball at the cost of $107 million to f*cked-over city taxpayers. I know Blues ownership will enjoy pocketing those extra profits while paying ONE F*CKING DOLLAR a year in rent and ZERO dollars for maintenance--maddeningly, despite the lease requiring that they do so--because they clearly don't give a f*ck about city residents. Hope we're still able to fund basic services and infrastructure upkeep as our credit rating gets downgraded again.

How much have we handed out to the Cardinals ownership over the years?

Too much. Just as we've handed out too much to other businesses. It's okay to be mad about all of it. One justifying the other is how we got into the spiral.

Blues soon to play at the Enterprise Center.

Blues' Scottrade Center getting new name: Enterprise Center
After more than a decade as Scottrade Center, the home of the St. Louis Blues is getting a new name: Enterprise Center. The name will transition over the summer, the Blues said Monday, as a banner with the new Enterprise name hung from the side of the arena. The building hosts about 100 events a year, the team said, bringing more than a million guests to downtown St. Louis annually...
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The value of naming rights deals for arenas that include NHL franchises can range between $3 million and $10 million per year.

Aside from the ongoing escalator replacement, are the rest of the renovations at the Enterprise Center done?

They are not.  This coming offseason will see the replacement of the lower bowl seats and some other improvements that I can't quite recall.  But I do think this is the last year for it.

^ Ah, I wasn't sure what stage that phase of the reno was in. I tried to look it up, but every website I visited for info was either incredibly vague on timing details or just not at all helpful. Good to know it should all be wrapped up by the end of the next season.

^ Yeah, details have been slightly hard to come by for whatever reason.  I know for sure the lower bowl seats still need to be replaced (finally, those things are getting pretty nasty), other than that I'm not sure what else is really left to do.  The building does look pretty damn good now too, the improvements have been great, even if I'm still quite peeved about how the financing went down.

Edit:  This is a pretty detailed overview from the PD about Phase II.  Not too many details on Phase III other than that it entails renovating the lower bowel.  So my guess is new seats and a few other things.  Sounds like most of the technical and behind the scenes work took place in Phase I, Phase II was a bit more fan friendly with the biergarten, new food options, and other fan focused areas.

Wooo!

Nice to see the national media paying some heed to the fact that, despite the rain, the watch parties at the Enterprise Center and Busch were sellouts, not to mention the partying going on in the streets throughout Downtown.

The Blues winning the Stanley Cup was incredible.

It is made sweeter by the fact that I accepted a job offer in St. Louis earlier that day.

Congrats!  I also finally got the word from my corporate office (which like most big Missouri companies is in STL haha) that I can come back too.  Probably will take another 6 months or so before a position opens up, but it's in motion!

And how about those STANLEY CUP CHAMPION, ST. LOUIS BLUES!

I wonder if anyone else cried as much as I did.

Congrats are in order for you as well! Keep checking those job boards.

I will be in St. Louis by late July.

I didn't cry - but I did do more jumping than I have in a long time. This was the culmination of what is easily one of the greatest sports stories I have ever witnessed.

At one point wasn't there talk of developing the corner of Clark & 14th Street, what ever happened to that?

I gone to 3 games this season I know not much but they are significant at different chapters of the season. My first game was in Dec when they played the Panthers though they were in the lower end of standings they did win, then I gone to the March game where the played the Golden Knights and they looked much much improved and they did win that game as well and were one of the 10 teams in league, then I gone to the western conference final 1st game against San Jose where they lost by the hand pass that could have changed the series into San Jose’s favor however we all saw the outcome of that. I’m so proud to be a Blues fan St Louis is literally a sports city no matter what the sport is. If owners of the team are willing to invest in the team and fans then fans are willing to invest in the team and believe and cheer and attend games. Congrats to the Blues St.Louis finally has the hardest trophy to win In all of sports Lords Stanley Cup also we have a NBA NFL and MLB championships.

Not sure if it's been posted here but the All Star graphic at Enterprise looks pretty sharp.

Now we have 3 of our very own to represent the Blues here at the All-Star game. Though should be 4

This game and even last night is soooo boring. Nothing to do with st.louis, just a nature of hockey all star weekend.
NBA and mlb are top 2 and nhl is a very distant 3rd and nfl is very very very distant 4th

I really like the NHL all star game format. 3 on 3 is more exciting to me than 5 on 5. I think the tournament format is fun. A lot more scoring chances. I’d personally watch the NHL all star game over the other 3 just because it keeps moving and is something different. In the NHL format I find myself rooting for my teams division to win. In MLB, I just want to see my teams players hit or pitch. The rest of the plays I don’t care about.

While I like baseball better than hockey in general, MLB’s all star game is boring to me. Game doesn’t mean anything and has no quirk that makes it different than a regular game, except that most of the players I don’t care about. I’d rather watch my favorite team play a a regular season game. NFL is the worse though. They should just get rid of it.

Last night I agree was pretty slow though.

^^ I was more just speaking to the ability of the Blues organization to successfully host these large events and do them really well. ASG, the Winter Classic, the Cup Final and everything around that. They do a really nice job...irrespective of whatever one thinks of the competition itself.

I’ll also add that anyone coming into this expecting intense heart pounding hockey was always going to be disappointed (same goes for any sport’s all star game really). If you think these athletes are going to go all out in the ASG and take the risk of injuring themselves right before they launch into the stretch run heading towards the playoffs then I have a bridge to sell you.
