Geez, what are they doing in there, hand-knitting all the duvets? Hand-throwing the bidets?sw6 wrote: ↑Nov 06, 2019Live by Loews has opened up their reservations. First available night is 2/26.
I think that was just some signage they showed on a rendering of the Pennant Building once. According to Chris's map, there are no retail spaces large enough for anything but maybe a bakery and / or specialty provisions store. The only large retail space left (>5000 SF) is in the residential tower, and that will likely be a pricey, full-service chain restaurant that isn't in the St. Louis market yet, such as Fogo de Chao.bwcrow1s wrote: ↑Nov 01, 2019I thought there was a market going in here? Or am I just missing it?
I think it was more than just a sign in a rendering. It sounded like they were focusing on getting a grocer or marketplace concept in that space and were marketing it to grocers.

Love how urban the second pic looks.
Also love the 6 Cardinal Way sign on the building.
One Cardinal Way from my car today. The step back is starting to show up.

Excited to see what will be built on the back lots. I wonder if they will go tall or more of a mid rise approach. Will OCW be the pinnacle of BPV?

the design is pretty generic HOWEVER i am liking the new construction in the downtown sightlines.

**Warning - This be an olde rendering!** 2016 P-D Article
I know way back in 2006 when Cardish was blowing smoke about the project to push the redevelopment agreement through, they specifically mentioned a grocery. Steve Patterson also April Fool's Day-teased a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on the NW corner of BPV in 2015. I was never quite sure how a grocery store would work here though, since it would be nearly impossible to get in and out of the store during late afternoon / early evening on most gamedays...
I can't find any mention of it since then other than in the rendering above, from 2016. That space with the Market signage in the rendering is the retail space where the Sports & Social bar is going. And that was the only retail space in Phase 2 large enough for a (small) grocery store other than the space in the hotel.

Would the old Shannon building be a good spot for a grocery store with an entrance on both sides of the building? This is just across the street from BPV, and, with the entrance on market, it would help mitigate the game day traffic.... Maybe add a tower during renovation:)

Not sure if you guys have been in the DTW Fields Foods but I don't think DT needs another grocery store.

Downtown doesn't need another expensive grocery store. A limited SKU store like Save a Lot or Aldi would be a godsend. Not that BPV would ever host something like that. It will always be a playground for tourists and county folk first over serving the immediately local population. I'm alright with that.
^ I actually completely agree. The Fields Foods struggle (assuming there is one), is partly their fault.

The crane was jumped again yesterday. It looks significantly taller now, especially coming South on Broadway.

Looks like 43 apartments remain so with 297 units total that would put it at about 85% leased with another 7-8 months until open.

Looks like 2 Cardinal Way is a sure bet at this point.pdm_ad wrote: ↑Nov 24, 2019https://onecardinalway.prospectportal.c ... dinal-way/

This is kind of funny, because there's always been "ONLY ONE LEFT!" of this particular unit. The Cardinal is the 2-level penthouse suite, which, unsurprisingly also happens to be the most expensive unit in the whole building. And there's only one of them. Kind of surprised that no local gazillionaire has scooped this one up yet.

Granted, the market for people who are willing to spend almost $100,000 for one year's use of a housing unit they'll never accrue any equity in is presumably pretty small.
There are 155 units left. I’ve always been told by the leasing ladies that if you want to know how many units are left, go to the 360degree tour page on OneCardinalWay.com. It’s updated every time a unit is leased out. It’s at 48% pre leased now.pdm_ad wrote:https://onecardinalway.prospectportal.c ... dinal-way/

Update from today. Working on moving forms up for the floor of level 28.
Edit: Can’t get the photo right side up. Don’t know if a mod can correct or not. Sorry, all.

Gone up the Arch today must say even with the inclement weather it was actively busy today. Taken a few shots nothing spectacular.

^^I think that is the floor of the 30th Floor (there is no 13th Floor) that they are forming, so they will still have the columns, walls, and roof structure left to form and pour, just like One Hundred. Then they will have the 2 to 3-story hoodscoop on the roof to erect, which will likely be steel framing. I'll guess this will top out around the first week of the new year.
