I think it is safe to assume that the final stadium design will consist almost entirely of rectilinear polygons... No skewed or curved lines, or any of those fancy wavy surfaces for these guys and gals! Snow Kreilich Architects - Work
[completely revising my post]
I completely missed that another architect had been brought on, especially this firm. A friend and I obsess over St. Paul's minor league ballpark.
You should definitely look up more photos of it, the attention to detail is amazing. CHS Field, St Paul.
^Yeah, I really like the aesthetics of the black iron and wood paneling, and the open, see-through concourse is a great touch. It would be great if they could do this with the MLS stadium, especially with the pitch being 40-50' below grade (if that is still the plan). Imagine an open concourse like in the picture above, with an active streetscape all around the stadium, and plazas at the street corners, with all the arriving fans, pedestrians, and traffic outside the stadium being able to look directly down onto the field... It would really liven up that whole area.
Was told that updated designs will be made public next week
Sooo... any update on this since it didn’t happen?
I have heard from a reliable source that there will be an update soon on the timing of an announcement concerning the status of the forthcoming release of all update and announcement schedule information in the coming weeks.

Sorry to all - I probably should not have posted, the source was a fellow fan, I have no updates. That being said - this thing has to be released pretty soon - inaugural season kicks off in 29 months.
Here's something interesting...

Today
@MLS4theLou came by the @MLS office. Great to see you Andy Taylor, @jimpkavanaugh and @BetzKindle 2022 is right around the corner!
^ Hadn't heard that. Just looked on KMOV website, didn't see anything. That said, assuming this took place, then we've got ourselves a stadium deal forthcoming...

Yeah, I was told KMOV leaked the news, but I too can't find a link. Unless...they were asked to pull the story.
Found the 4am KMOV newscast on my DVR. This aired last night at 10pm and again at 4am. This snippet was the only thing that wasn't background info, that there was a meeting.
The City of St. Louis and MODOT are moving toward a land purchase. ... While no sale deal was made during the meeting (Monday), the MODOT commission was authorized to talk about the potential sale of the land. For months MODOT has been expected to sell land near 64 and 22nd Street that has been rumored as the location for the new stadium.
And rather than leasing it from the city, the MLS ownership group plans to retain private ownership of the stadium, taking responsibility for its upkeep and maintenance and paying some property taxes, according to people close to the ownership group who spoke on condition of anonymity.
It looks like a Convention Center. Also of note, the new building fronting Market Street is just one of a few buildings that will eventually make a Soccer Village. Parking will be underground underneath the practice fields
The ownership group doesn't intend to add a sea of parking to Downtown West. Plans call for a modest 700 to 900 parking spots underneath the practice fields to serve team staff and others. Plans show parking south of Clark Street, though that is mostly a placeholder and that land could be developed in the future, sources said.
I'm sure that will get complaints here about that still being too many spaces added.

Hopefully this piece can make most everyone happy now.
I am sure cutting off Pine will upset some people but I think this stadium configuration is probably better anyway.
I did find it interesting that one of the renderings has it set up for gaming tournaments.
Huge fan of the design, I guess esports is a thing to rack up extra cash. The practice fields, while they don't fill up density, I really like that parking was integrated underneath (no ugly parking garages :0) and the area to the east is a great opportunity for mixed-use development! I also love that they incorporated the glass cover on the top, on the downside I don't know-how the stadium will look over time it's pretty bare on the outside. One last thing I'm super happy about is the ending of the mall, currently, it drops off and is sorta the armpit of Downtown West.
