Old post office it is.
Main / Central Post Office. It's old but "Old Post Office" is already taken. ;)

Ely Walker, yep. Apparently this kind of "decoration" was fairly common back in the day.

^Nice! Good catch Framer and STLExplorer. I very much like that building, but I'm not sure I ever looked closely enough at the textured blocks to recognize the "intestines." Heh! :)

There used to be two of them. There was a near replica of it built facing Locust as well. I think it was on the same block as the Terra Cotta Lofts building. I think they even had one more building about half the size of the other two. All built to the exact same style.

Very tough! I think it is the ABC Auto Sales Building just east of Grand on Page - the little triangle block there that Paul McKee was supposed to rehab a few years back. https://nextstl.com/2013/04/paul-mckee- ... boulevard/

^Again, nice catch, STLexplorer. I was going through closed Itner looking to see if it was a school before I saw that there was more of the thread. I think you have a winner there.

Sad to see buildings like this continue to deteriorate. I haven't photographed it in a while, but it looked a lot better last time I did...

Here's my next challenge - Where in St. Louis am I?

That really looks a lot like the Steelcote building. There's a few details that make me think it's off, but there's been so very much demo around there . . .

Steelcote from, oh, aproximately Edwin and Chouteau?

I've got this one. Looking east from Beaumont down the alley behind AT&T building (between Olive and Locust) toward Jefferson.

^ Nice job Black02AltimaSE!

^^ Symphonic Poet - I see the resemblance to the steelcote building in the distance - good guess.

It may be that "in a while" mislead me. That looks better than Steelcote's looked in twenty years or more. I took a good look at it as I was driving past this afternoon. Didn't really think that was right, but somehow I missed the other, even though I've driven down both Olive and Locust past it quite often.

^^ I walk dogs for Stray Rescue and on a hot day that alley sometimes becomes a wind tunnel that you can walk down to cool off. Knew it as soon as I saw it. The building in the background is Ansira (nee NSI) that received some attention during the recent Mantovani v Stenger primary.

BTW I don't have any pictures to post so if someone has one queued up to keep this going, have at it.

I was trying to decide between churches and mid-century modernism myself, so . . . I'll follow your lead and do both:

Is that Central Baptist at Washington and TE Huntley? I've never been inside, just quick peeks while walking by.
