So are there rules to this? The first person to answer correctly gets to post the next quiz? (Did this for a while on a naval discussion thread.)
Which means Framer gets to go again, right? Though we maybe skipped urban_diletante. If there's no rule like that I could probably be induced to post a couple.
You're just posting some of my favorite areas! The Near North Riverfront Neighborhood is amazing in general (at least what's left of it).
I usually just read this forum, but couldn't help but chime in on this thread. Here's a photo from a few weeks ago in a more well-traveled neighborhood - Where in St. Louis am I?
Looking west down hunt about two doors down from Hunt and Newstead. Nice one. Not a lot to go on. At first I actually thought ITI at 4425 was A-Line Transmission back up north, since the buildings are similar sizes, styles, and colors. (And the neighborhoods are comparably industrial and broadly similar when you're actually in the thick of them.) But the pole line about had to be the pole line through Mill Creek Valley. At first that threw me a little. I actually figured you were looking south across the River DesPesperes towards the Hill when in reality you're looking just about due west onto the Hill. The stack on Gateway STEM threw me. It looks a lot more prominent from right there than maybe anywhere else. (Had to really carefully examine the pole and figure out the perspective before I could find it. Just kept looking past. Eventually when I was scanning over the map the right way I could find the building on the south side of the street with the peaked roof.)
Anyway . . . nice one! And generally a good spot for train spotting and industrial appreciation.
That is quite the detailed answer and right you are! As I was walking through here I dreamed of this block being a mini commercial node for the south side of the neighborhood some day.
It is a ceiling, but it's an exterior structure. A pavilion of sorts. Kind of a quiet corner in the back of other more famous things. Not Midtown. Not Locust. Quite solidly in the city, though. More details later if no one gets it.
