It also has Frontier cutting all service from Denver to Cincy, Chicago, Philly, Phoenix in November. Which is why I think its a misfile. Their current schedule goes through November 1. The route still exists on November 1. So I am thinking it will still be there when they do a schedule extension. That said, I don't know why they haven't done one yet. They have less than 5 months you can book right now. I would think it would be out soon.gregl wrote: ↑Jun 13, 2017All service to DEN, which is their main hub. It's possible it's a misfiling which will be corrected next week... we'll see.

I would believe as such. I know that the Cancun flights are *always* filled to capacity.gregl wrote:All service to DEN, which is their main hub. Nice catch! I'm curious which parcel this is. Sounds like a pretty sweet lease on five and a half acres of Grade A Prime . . . but if it's been sitting empty for fifty years then maybe it's not so prime. And solar panels don't much mind jet noise. So yeah, that probably is a good use. Ought to be good for both entities. Very long term, and the airport is locked in, but I'm guessing the risks are small. And I expect the airport can figure out the glare risks and so forth.rbb wrote: ↑Jun 13, 2017http://www.flystl.com/uploads/documents ... inutes.pdf

Now if we could just find a way of turning "heat and humidity" into energy.
Due to today's storms, I saw a that a flight aborted a landing and then diverted to Mid-America, then made a quick trip back to Lambert a short while later. Anybody have any idea how often diversions to Mid-America occur?

Im haven't seen the midamerica diversion before. Maybe too low on fuel for KC or Somewhere else?
Here is one for you. Flight from STL to MDW. Got up to MDW and was diverted back to STL.

Looks like there were a bunch of them diverted to STL that were bound for Chicago this evening. I saw a couple from SAN, one from ABQ, and an Aeromexico flight. I was hoping for a couple on bigger planes but didn't see any.

This might be the State Farm group coming back from Stockholm. But there is a 777 on the way. Lands around 7:15 tonight

I am curious is how the setup will be at landing for passengers to go through customs. Since E 33 only handles up to 787 sized aircraft. I'm guessing it would take up both E 31 and E 33 to fit. Hopefully no Southwest diversions today unlike yesterday or there could be some gate issues if the charter is taking up two gates and the new gates aren't open yet.
Guessing freeing up the international gates plus diversions is big reasons to get those new gates. Also to allow for a few more flights at the peak times to maximize connections.

Shoot! Missed it by a couple days. Flying out Saturday morning on the DAL 757.jshank83 wrote: ↑Jun 15, 2017This might be the State Farm group coming back from Stockholm. But there is a 777 on the way. Lands around 7:15 tonight

E29 has a scheduled arrival at 7:35 (although it is delayed) (departs 9:30)
E31 has one at 6:45 (departs 7:40) (next arrival 9:10)
E33 has one at 6:50 (departs 7:45) (next arrival at 8:30)
Maybe they could fit it in but if anything doesn't go as planned I'm not sure the timing works.
Back in the TWA days, there was at least one flight which diverted to St. Louis Downtown / Cahokia.
Not sure. Didn't a Southwest flight end up at Spirit last year?
Looks like Quincy is back up for bid on their service. Not that they add a bunch of passengers to the airport but I thought it was at least of note. They have 5 different airlines looking to provide service. Some of them have more than one proposal. I have a feeling they are going to split St. Louis and Chicago service this time around. Four of the five are mostly offering all St. Louis or a split. Skywest is the only one offering no St. Louis options. It is also the only one offering jet service. I doubt Quincy really needs CRJ-200, 50 seater flights, so I would guess they would pick one of the other four.
It also mentions for Cape Air: "The airline also operates a downtown Quincy ticket office and is seeking American Airlines branding in St. Louis."
All the numbers are in the article.

A couple random late night thoughts.
Apparently, Southwest is running 3 Saturday nonstops to San Diego now. I knew they were running two during the week but I didn't realize it was 3 on Saturday (I figured it actually was just 1 before noticing 3 tonight). I am sure it is just for summer but that is nice to see from what was just seasonal a year or 2 ago.
I see United has a Saturday night red eye from SFO they are running the next couple months. I don't know if it is new or not but I always am interested to see who runs red eyes. I know Frontier runs one from Vegas daily. AA runs one from LAX and PHX some months also.

Frontier did not re-add the STL-DEN flights back this week... so if it was a misfiling, they don't seem in any hurry to correct it.gregl wrote: ↑Jun 13, 2017All service to DEN, which is their main hub. On their mobile app, all flight bookings end November 1st for all destinations, from all origins. Is there any indications the airline could be going under?gregl wrote:Frontier did not re-add the STL-DEN flights back this week... so if it was a misfiling, they don't seem in any hurry to correct it.

They are also running 5 daily from the NYC area. (2x EWR 3x LGA)jshank83 wrote:A couple random late night thoughts.

By misfile, I just think they don't have the schedule that far out yet. Because they only have 1 day scheduled for the whole month, I think it has it has the numbers screwed up. I could be wrong but until they extend their schedule that is what I think is happening.gregl wrote: ↑Jun 18, 2017Frontier did not re-add the STL-DEN flights back this week... so if it was a misfiling, they don't seem in any hurry to correct it.
Looks like the new gate area opens up tonight. This the first flight I have seen with a new gate listed so far.
11:10 pm Austin Southwest #5691 E38 On Time
Makes sense that the first departures would be on a Monday so they can possibly publicize it some on a weekday.

Looks like a few more are showing up during the day. Only using E38 interestingly enough. On publicizing it, they may wait to do so until Thursday with the next schedule extension if there is anything new that pops up.
Also the earlier note on San Diego flights, could be they are also using it as a replacment for losing the Orange County slot. Also would explain why Alaska is jumping in on it at the end of the year.

There are some E34 showing up now also. It looks like the E29s are gone now, which I think we all expected. Good point about Thursday, you could be right about that.imperialmog wrote: ↑Jun 19, 2017Looks like a few more are showing up during the day. Only using E38 interestingly enough. Jun 19 5:30 am Houston-HOU Southwest #2061 E38 On Time
Jun 19 9:30 am New Orleans Southwest #5701 E38 On Time
Jun 19 10:40 am Reno Southwest #3423 E38 On Time
Jun 19 8:20 am Ft Lauderdale Southwest #1444 E34 On Time
Jun 19 9:45 am Jacksonville Southwest #3541 E34 On Time
A pet peeve is them listing a destination that is further down the line than where the plane is going nonstop from STL. Ie Jacksonville and Reno in this case.
On the SD thing, I was just surprised there is an extra flight on Saturday. It seems like usually they have less flights on Saturdays except to Florida and the Caribbean. Maybe SD counts as a "vacation spot" though?
I have a flight out on Wednesday so I will try to post some picks of the new area if no one else does before then.
I see the airport facebook/twitter put a couple pics up yesterday. It looks like the Stella bar that was by E29/31/33 got moved down to the new gates. It looks like it is walled off just passed the bathrooms that are just passed E40.

I noticed last weekend that the Stella Bar was gone. I looked but could not find where it was relocated.

I was just taking a little look at the tables provided here.
https://www.transportation.gov/policy/a ... are-report
Since the tables have in some of the numbers the local demand between two metro pairs. (so connections on either end are stripped out) It was interesting is trying to see what the busiest unserved markets from here is as a possible guess as to what Southwest might add in the near future since them adding these gates there will most certainly be some expansion. Interesting surprise is that it appears its Sacramento is the busiest unserved market with Jacksonville and Hartford with similar numbers. Also looking at the numbers and schedule it definitely shows a hub structure present here with some routes being heavily with connecting feed through here (and in a case like St. Louis to Nashville connecting feed on either end) Of course they could add some wildcards that nobody saw coming.

I have reason to believe we could see a large SW expansion out of STL on the 22nd.imperialmog wrote:I was just taking a little look at the tables provided here.

My picks: Indianapolis, Sacramento, and Charlotte. Maybe even Jacksonville.
I also believe we will hear about a Europe route by the end of the summer.
