St. Louis got some nice exposure last night on ESPN for opening day. The aerial shots made it look like there was quite a bit of parking around the stadium, well because there is. Just thinking how a couple new shiny towers would have looked great in center field and to all the Chicago fans who came in town for the game. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. Also reaffirmed my belief that sports provide some intangible benefits like pride and comradery.

I sure hope this project gets underway soon. If it does not get underway soon, The Cardinals and The Cordish companies shave lost my respect regarding this project.

^For what its worth, connected with an old Cordish friend a few weeks ago and he reassured me it was full steam ahead. At least the Phase 2 portion.

Good to know, I thought it was dead by no new news coming out.

I thought the phase 2 construction wasn't supposed to start til August (or some time around there) so I figured we wouldn't hear much til then, unless a tenet is announced, since the design seems to be done.

Chris, I thought you said you had an inside connection that knows a Cards employee? Is that person saying something to make you go back on what you said earlier or why the statement asking why they haven't started? I don't think there is reason to panic as of yet, unless your contact knows something more.

He says they make Back out of Phase 2 UNLESS an office tenant signs on by July. They want to break ground in Late August but he says that no office tenant has signed on. Reason behind this, "companies were fooled before with office space, so people are skeptical with this"

Can't imagine the public outcry and media sh*t storm this would cause. If they were not prepared they shouldn't have went to the city for incentives and released those plans. At this point, I'm ready for the city to take control of the BPV properties and sell it to capable developers. Or at least start fining the crap out of them.

Before on previous versions of be project, companies signed on to the office space anticipating that it would get built. They were fooled. This problem is still very much an issue when it comes down to tenants wanting to sign on to the office portion.

It is hard for me to believe that not even one tenant, even a small 15-50 employee company, has not expressed and nearly contracted space in the new building. Unless they are only trying to attract a sole tenant, this office space should be selling faster than anything in clayton.

Again, this project will not get off the ground. The city needs to seize the land and put out a RFP. Cordish and the cardinals have made a fool out of this city.

^ This. Out of curiosity, what can the city do about this? Is the city able to seize the land?

What do you mean by "signed on"? Expressed interest? I don't think there were ever any contracts. And what companies other than Centene?

I'm not buying that a team worth nearly 2 billion dollars can't even get one company to put even a satellite office within the this new building? Cardinals alone can single handedly build this entire project on their own even build a new soccer facility if they wanted honestly they didn't need a TIF. Phase II can get built with or without an anchor tenant. This will be a major letdown if this doesn't get built no reason why it shouldn't

Some companies (small and large) either signed a contract or expressed great interest but since Cordish sat on their ass to long, those companies backed out. This problem continues to today where some small companies have signed on but are skeptical if they (Cordish) can even get this phase going.

Not sure if mentioned already, but will Cardinals scrap all of BPV if office doesn't go forward?

PWC to BPV in 2019?

PwC inks lease extension in downtown

PwC has extended its lease at Bank of America Plaza, located at 800 Market St. in downtown St. Louis.

The extension, for 52,966 square feet according to Gershman Commercial Real Estate research, is believed to be for between one to three years.
Such an extension would fit the narrative that the accounting and consulting firm, also known as PwC, is considering a move into Ballpark Village’s proposed office development, which is slated to be ready by 2019.

Well if PwC is going to be the official tenant of the office building in BP 2 then its only a matter of time before we get an announcement? Im curious about phase 3 cause thats suppose to have more of a hotel concept i wonder what hotelier would be interested. My opinion it should be something new to the St.Louis region.
