A lot of false positives. I found one false negative. Is there a way to let them know about them?

I saw that you could report something incorrect when you select a parcel.

One cool feature is if you click on any lot, if that owner owns multiple lots anywhere else in the city, it will highlight them in yellow (but only if the owner names are identical - if they have multiple shell LLCs that own property that isn't captured).

For example, clicking on 1234 S Kingshighway Blvd shows all of WashU's holdings in the city highlighted in yellow: https://www.stlvacancytools.com/#15048000015

Stl Louis Public Radio - St. Louis has thousands of vacant properties. A Missouri House bill aims to change that
Proponents of a bill working its way through the Missouri House of Representatives say it would streamline how buildings with delinquent taxes are sold at auction and make it easier for developers to buy and rehab those properties.

Rep. Michael O’Donnell, R-Oakville, is sponsoring the bill. He said the legislation could make thousands of vacant properties in the city more attractive to developers by solving existing issues with property titles.

StlToday - St. Louis vacancy issue taken up in Senate committee
A Missouri Senate committee heard testimony Monday on a plan aimed at addressing St. Louis’ “costly and dangerous” vacancy backlog as well as additional property issues mostly facing the city.
The measure, sponsored by Rep. Michael O’Donnell, R-Oakville, would usher in sweeping changes for addressing the city’s abandoned properties.
Proponents have said proposed penalties and regulations would push owners to maintain and pay delinquent taxes on vacant properties.

I think it's good that they are addressing it and it seems like they are actually addressing real legal issues, I just hope on the construction side that it's approached from a rehab-preferred perspective rather than a bulldoze-preferred stance (I couldn't tell from the article the specifics of the plan or if it included anything to encourage renovation over tear down and rebuild)

Need to read up on the details of the vacancy bill but strange that it flew through the legislature with support from County Republicans driving it forward. Were the Realtors behind this?

Old North is nearing the nexus of homes being slowly rehabilitated and homes being torn down. Feels like even at this slow pace we are a decade away from there being no abandoned buildings left.

In other vacant properties news 1722 California Ave has finally been torn down. Took me a while to even notice but it's great to have that highly visible eyesore taken care of at long last.

^ oh wow, that was the one falling down right next to I-44. Would love to see that little part of the Gate District have new housing. That would be as impactful from the highway as DeTonty and Lafayette improvement in Tiffany, Botanical Heights and Shaw.

Apart from some crustiness on Geyer in Fox Park and maybe one or two buildings on DeTonty, 44 is almost completely rid of highly visible blighted structures.

64 looks great. 55 still has a handful of buildings that need fixed. 70 is not even close.

I hate these highways but they exist and are likely not going anywhere in our lifetimes. Many who pass through STL will only see the city from the highways. Like it or not that is a huge billboard for what St. Louis is all about. Would love to see a greater emphasis on fixing or removing these high visibility structures.

^^Landmarks such as the water towers, the Most Holy Trinity, and some schools are also visible from 70 which could definitely be built upon. It does seem that crews have stopped mowing the hill on O'Fallon Park for the last few years, though. It is highly visible from the interstate and a great eyesore.

I wonder how much our national image would improve simply by re-routing everyone to Downtown (from the airport) via 170/64 rather than 70.

We would be universally hated for that 1-lane flyover connection between 170 & 40/64.

I agree, I-70 needs major beautification efforts. It looks post-apocalyptic. Also, we could use some better landscaping on local highways.

Eh, I would put improving the view for interstate travelers close to last on the list of many things St. Louis could do better on. Highways lower property values because no one wants to live next to the noise, and encourage auto-oriented uses that generate little in property taxes compared to how much infrastructure they require. Because of these factors I'd say the vacant homes along I-70 are among the least likely properties in North City to be redeveloped.
