There should be a second location opening up later this year. The owner just acquired a building on South Grand near Wyoming.

^ That's great to know! I love the 14th and Washington location, but getting my fix closer to home sure will be nice!

It will be awesome to see another location especially on Grand!

This is one place that makes me swoon for the days I lived in Italy. Both atmosphere and gelato are very authentic. It's this type of place that sold me on buying a loft downtown!

Gelateria near BJC/WashU Med would be glorious I was thinking today. I just got back from Italy and was having a major craving for it. I may have eaten my body weight in Gelato in the 10 days I was there.

The Gelateria on 14th and Washington is wonderful. I live on 9th and Washington and once a week or two hop on my bike around 10-10:30 and get a treat before bedtime. They recently changed their hours and are open until 11:00 p.m. 7 days a week. WISHFUL THINKING: Riding my bike wears off the calories I'm eating? HA! :-)

Apparently the new locale is between Orpheum Dry Cleaners and Pho Grand. I think it was formerly a real estate office, no?

Uh oh - it's ON Trent! I'd pay more the ambiance, but I don't even have to - Pho is less expensive AND it doesn't feel like a cheap Asian diner!

I really can't wait to have excellent Gelato on S. Grand. This may shift the balance away from the Loop and CWE for me.

I had Lemongrass last night due to the fact that Pho Grand was closed. Now that was a disapointment.

I will have to check Pho Grands schedual before hand next time, but if I will be able to get Gelato afterwards in teh future that would be fantastic.

Lemongrass is waay better than Faux Grand. We had an out of town guest in and and it was monday, and had to got to Faux. We were like "i'm so sorry, we told you about our great vietnamese place and we had to bring you HERE..."

It was tragic.

My Vietnamese friend doesn't like Pho Grand, but likes Lemongrass. I'm not saying Pho is bad, I actually like it, but Lemongrass is better IMO.

Sorry to drag this off topic. It's usually my fault things go off topic.

pho grande's pho is a little too heavy on the anise flavor for my taste, but i think in general most of their dishes are on par w/ lemongrass... the hired help @ lemongrass could be taught a thing or two about service though. i was in there a few months ago with my wife and the waitress starts making some snide comments about my wife and I in vietnamese right behind my back. i told her my viet was a little rough beforehand and i guess she took that as a green light to be a b*tch.

anyway, sorry - just venting. the best viet food in town is still mai lee in my opinion.

^ You're right. It was a real estate office. The new owner of the building walked me and my friend through the space Tuesday night after the ballgame. It's pretty rough right now, but it looks to be about double the seating capacity of the downtown location. They are also planning outdoor seating in the back with a fountain. It should be a great addition to the area and they are shooting for opening in about 8-10 weeks. They also plan on installing the same style neon sign out front.

I have. The windows "swing" open, giving it an outdoor feel. The space is comfortable. It should do very good business in the summer, being right next to Pho Grand (my fav)
