A short segment on Arch Grants made a mention on National Public Radio:

Looks like C-SPAN is filming a feature on St. Louis. Looking forward to when it comes out.

Apparently St. Louis is the only city in the world that has two sculpture parks in the top 10 in the world:

http://blogs.riverfronttimes.com/dailyr ... photos.php

Hey, we all know that "top 10 in ____" lists are crap so why not show off all the ones that support our region?

Any list that names the Ellen Clark Sculpture Park as the world's 8th best is obviously not to be taken seriously.

...or excludes the Walker Art Center's sculpture garden. Spoonbridge with Cherry is pretty hard to beat.

American Ninja Warrior ST LOUIS on NBC right now. Looks like they are between 13th and Tucker along Market. There's been a few cool shots of downtown both around the course and a few aerial from Illinois side. Soldier Memorial and Civil Courts dominating the background throughout.

Great article in New York Magazine about why cities are special, and it singles out St. Louis as successful innovation hub!

USA today ran an article on which city is Soccer City, USA? St. Louis was chosen in addition to Seattle and Los Angeles
http://worldcup.usatoday.com/2014/06/15 ... -city-usa/

US Chamber of Commerce noted St. Louis to be among the top 10 cities for starting a business, from a regulatory standpoint:

What a ringing endorsement of STL, Ellie Kemper...Typical STL inferiority complex I can't wait for us to get over...yes, seemed too nervous and awkward.

Chuck Todd's piece is another reason for reunification. The city's f ed up stats drag down the entire region. When will people get this? We are the 18th largest metro and we act like we're the 67th. Cities half our size have more pride and tout positives that we have and take for granted.

St Louis is such an incredible city. I know so many people who have left and miss it dearly. A lot of St Louisans take what they have for granted and don't realize what it has until it's gone.

Also, St Louis issuing Same Sex Marriage Licenses in direct defiance of the MO constitution made national news. Glad to see STL taking a stand.

From Biz Journal:
Forbes cites St. Louis’ low cost of living as an advantage: “Employees who make less in St. Louis, Phoenix or Dallas often live far better than their counterparts who earn higher salaries in the traditional money centers.”

The report also said the future looks even brighter: “Places like St. Louis, where the industry has grown and approaches critical mass, seem to be in position to make a serious bid for higher-end jobs.”

I know some of the area's financial services leaders have been trying to lure more firms here and hopefully we'll get a couple nice wins. I also hope that a pitch is being made to Charles Schwab for the back-end employees it will ship out of SanFran so that they can make a living.. I've heard of Texas and Colorado being looked at, but I hope we're making an offer that will be hard to refuse.
