Pretty exciting stuff happening. This will be the beginning of a new era for the blues or arguably it started after winning the cup. Bouw not having yet officially retired was also a huge piece of the team. Lot of pieces in motion for them but I think COVID overshadowed last season entirely. Hope they get off to a good start.sc4mayor wrote: ↑Dec 28, 2020I know the Blues don’t garner much attention around these parts...but a pretty big off season so far. Krug signing, Petro left, Steen retired, O’Riley’s the new captain (apparently to Vladi’s displeasure), and they just picked up Mike Hoffman on a PTO (due to cap space).

Armstrong (Blues GM) has shown a real willingness to make big moves and take chances (with the full financial backing of Stillman and crew). Something the folks in the Cardinals FO seem to be lacking these last several years...
Couple links about Mike Hoffman and O'Riley's handling of Vladi's comments regarding the Captaincy. The NHL accommodated the Blues by pushing up some of the start times for West Coast games. The team will have only three games — including the season opener at Colorado on Jan. 13 — that start at 9:30 p.m. St. Louis time. Five games will start at 9 p.m., two at 8:30 and nine at 8 p.m. That means only 10 games will end later than the local evening newscast. Last season, with fewer West Coast games on the schedule, the Blues had seven games start at 9 or 9:30 p.m. In addition, the team will play five road games that will start at 6 p.m. or earlier.
The bulk of the Blues’ home schedule will start, as usual, at 7 p.m., with the team having four weekend games that will start at 2 p.m.
Solid all around team effort last night against a super talented young team that can fly, and who many have picked to win it all. Thomas looked great, Kyrou with a strong game, and of course Sunny was Sunny hitting everything, blocking shots and scored two goals up on the 2nd line w/o Hoffman in the lineup. Krug also looked very good in his first game as a Blue. No drop off whatsoever, and no unforced icings! Game 2 tomorrow night against the Avs once again in the thin air of CO. Hoffman should be in lineup as work visa issues get ironed out.beer city wrote: ↑Jan 14, 2021This bunch is looking good tonight and Hoffman is not even playing!
Carrier pigeon. It's how people took aerials before there were drones.chriss752 wrote: ↑Jan 15, 2021Didn't know where to put this, but cool photo from Alberici when Enterprise Center/Scottrade Center/Kiel was being built in 1993.
