There's a ribbon-cutting scheduled today at 4 pm for the newly completed 6th floor display unit.

Hello, I'm new to the board, but I love the city and its buildings.
There is a sign on the building across from the bank that says "Rehab Coming Soon". What that means and what timeline they have is beyond me. But I think it used to be a theater with ground floor retail in front of it if I'm not mistaken.

welcome to the forum
Steve Patterson wrote in his blog about the building across the street known as the Melba Theatre or Pizza a gogo building. Hope this helps.

Amen!
I am so so glad they saved this building. I have driven past it most of my life and it is about the only interesting let alone pretty thing on that intersection. So glad! I have to say that that intersection of Grand and Gravois is totally depressing. I don't know what it is, but it just feels bleak and dark. Are there any other plans around that intersection in consideration?
^Go back to the start of this thread and read it through. Several nearby projects are discussed, such as the one mentioned by brickandmorter just two posts before yours.
Oh, and welcome to the forum!

This was recently posted on the project's blog which is accessible from the South Side Tower website:
The website for Grandview Pointe, aka The Melba and the former location of Pizza A Go-Go among other things, is up and running, but there are only renderings to see at this point. I'm guessing that we'll see little if any work on that building until the SSNB renovation is completed next year.
The project continues to gather momentum since construction has picked up this month. We recently signed another contract which gets us to 9 of 13 units sold. In addition, we have signed our first lease for a chiropractor's office on the second floor and we continue to negotiate with several ground floor tenants. We'll keep you up to date here with further sales, leasing and construction progress. We're all looking forward to completion in spring/summer of 2007!
