The problem with that statement is that the daytime worker crowd is the ONLY one supporting so many restaurants. How places initially opened up with evening hours and scaled them back because downtown residents don't patronize them?Mark Groth wrote:Good to hear....now if the daytime worker crowd can support them well enough, maybe they'll expand hours for the residents and locals in the near future.tge-atw wrote:OPEN.
Crowded already at 11:15. Still working out kinks--actively training guys how to use the meat slicer, and a bit slow though they have a large staff, but my sandwich is great. It is not hard to rocket to the top of the Downtown deli scene unfortunately, but these guys (as anticipated) just did.

I hear ya. Everyone wants longer hours for businesses but the resident can't support them. If they do support them it's for the short term.
However it would be nice to stop in on a Saturday morning after a night of drinking before shopping at Macy's.

Ever seen Rooster on weekends? I think if the food is good, people will come. If you work/live DT, then great you have a nice deli; if not, you are sol. How do you think all the other great spots in town stay open with normal restaurant hours?bprop wrote:The problem with that statement is that the daytime worker crowd is the ONLY one supporting so many restaurants. I didn't say every; I said 'so many'. Particularly but not exclusively as you go east of Tucker. I work in the area and can't even count the restaurants that started with long hours and scaled back to the typical 11-2.Mark Groth wrote: Ever seen Rooster on weekends?
