Great looking. I am always amazed at the turnaround of these old buildings. Vibrant. I enjoy St. Louis' continuity with red brick, but buildings (including G.E.W. Lofts) painted like this will help enliven the city.

The building to the east had it's facade damaged during the 2nd round of storms a few weeks back. They had part of Locust blocked off for a day or two to get it cleaned up.

That's a shame - it would have made great retail space.

i dunno, it looked pretty decrepit. at least they salvaged all of the bricks from the building. hopefully it doesn't turn into a parking lot.

Whitecastles.. j/k - but it would fit if the building was still the original white color. i have heard rumors that mcgowan himself will open something.

was walking my dog today by the building and saw the interior and it looked quite nice. the interior space is cavernous. whatever restaurant goes in there, it's going to be swank no doubt. the ceilings look like they are 25ft+ and there is a balcony area as well. i'm impressed.

from this...

to this...

check out the 2nd floor balcony...

wider shot..

I had a really hard time picturing how this was going to turn out, but that looks great. Good for them for having some vision! Also nice to see a 2B2B condo for less than $200k. Shows that there's still some great values out there.

Hope they land a nice restaurant. Anyone on the board buying here? Are they running on schedule?

This is helping to bridge the gap between Downtown and Midtown

Let's keep going!

after dwelling on the interior layout some more, it could actually fit 2-3 little stores in there if they did it right. a small cafe on the second or first level w/ wireless access. a small sushi area like "I Love Mr. Sushi" or like the one in Rue13 in the western end of the floor space and maybe a small wine/desert bar at the other end or on the second floor. the layout strikes me as a place for people who like to see or be seen.

Anyone know when the closing date is for residents? I heard they were hoping end of November, but haven't seen any movement to imply that was happening.

Anyone know anything?

They are about half sold out and ready to move in. I actually have a friend who moved in this building in November. She is really happy.

WOW that's a lot of glass! I wonder what window treatments they'll be offering to people. Venitian blinds would look TERRIBLE with those massive chicago style window. It's like each exterior wall is nothing but a solid sheet of glass - very art-deco

Has anyone heard if they are still planning on doing that roof top patio?

Quote from website:

Distinctive features of this development include huge oversized windows giving residents sweeping views of the surrounding cityscape, and a fully landscaped "green" roof, offering unique retreat to get away from it all.

I saw it from the initial links on the first page.
