THIS is news to me. Seems a little hypocritical, but I guess they can argue about the amount of skill required for each action.TheWayoftheArch_V2.0 wrote: ↑Feb 22, 2024What I always find funny is that union employees cost too much to picket / be present so the union hires non union people to sit there.
Its interpretational dance at its finest.

Hiring a scab to call others a scab is always picky.
NorthPoint is seeking 90% property tax abatement for 10 years plus 10 more at 50%.
Oh great, so now they can hold the vacant property hostage. 90% for any amount of time is ridiculous in the Grove unless there is a serious commitment to affordability.
Sounds like the schoolkids have to cover the cost of high interest rates.

It’s the colonization mentality most developers have toward the city. We’ve got to start pushing back. Here would be a good start.

Yeah - I think they are planning on doing two phases though.RockChalkSTL wrote: ↑Apr 15, 2024Are they still planning a second building near I-64?
The next engagement meeting for this project is this Saturday, 10 am to 12 pm. There will be a short presentation at 10:15 am and then it will be an open house style format after that. It will be at SLU High School in the Si Commons.
There will be information on both phases, including traffic studies, renderings, and more.

I wish we could just build things....I hate the endless "community engagement & feedback" process.......
While the design is predictably future-throwaway, can those of you involved in the Grove push early on for large trees along kings highway? Rather than be surprised once the tree lawns all get concreted .
Edit: just noticed in the renderings that is exactly what is being depicted

I’ll say it: trash design. No better than the LuxLiving designs. Such large projects deserve a better design since they’ll be the most visible buildings in the neighborhood on the most trafficked routes.

I’m not thrilled with the design either. I’m ready for this trend to end.
Though I do love the density and if the construction quality is better than the Lux buildings of similar design, I can live with it.

Design stinks. Neighborhood should make an ask but also we shouldn't stop this project because of design opinions ( I dont think any project should be stopped for that)Chris Stritzel wrote: ↑Apr 18, 2024I’ll say it: trash design. So easy just to brick the building all the way up... would look twice as good. Agree the density is amazing - can't wait to get all of these people into FPSE
^I agree. How much do they actually save on the facade in the grand scheme of things?
Please come to tomorrow's open house and share that feedback with thempattimagee wrote: ↑Apr 18, 2024So easy just to brick the building all the way up... would look twice as good. Agree the density is amazing - can't wait to get all of these people into FPSE

^I honestly wish I had the free time to go to all of the events like this... but I barely (and that's a stretch) make my own neighborhood meetings, even with my favorite neighbor (he's on here) reminding me.
We will be at a track-meet for my 5YO down the street though - sending you good luck!
They didn't ask for emails, but I did send Park Central a message with that feedback.

Kind of surprised to see the article quoting Jane Condellire. She lives in the county and inherited the house on Arco from her sister. She thinks the development will lower the value of the house.quincunx wrote: ↑Apr 20, 2024Ugh
