Minority job training and business development programs are incredible. I'd support them alone. It just seems to me that those were attached to increase the chance that the stadium succeeds.

^ thanks; and agreed. it will be interesting to see what happens if the sales tax passes, which as I understand it would automatically increase the use tax, but the MLS/job training proposal does not. Not quite sure how much that generates, but I believe it would exceed $4M as that is the amount that would go to MLS stadium as I understand it... you could still do the job training/biz development and maybe some more transit/streets needs, etc.

Sounds good and at same time so vague who will gain the most out of it? The people providing the training or do the marketing or something that forwards skill levels and education for someone who has not been as fortunate as me in life.

The stance from Greitens is consistent with his past statements re: public funding. But FWIW, Foundry's open letter from November 23rd, available on http://www.stlsoccerreport.com, revealed that Foundry STL "has a relationship with the Governer-elect" (on page 3, footnote 2).

Step in the right direction for Greitens. This has to stop.

In the end, I see Foundry and SC STL coming together to cover this cost.

^ bold prediction!

I assume the MFDB approves the state incentives tomorrow, btw, but if not I guess the whole thing has to be re-worked or it's dead.

What have you seen that makes you think that (1) Foundry has the money it says it has, and (b) is willing to work in good faith with SC STL?

I'm not entirely sure, but I genuinely don't see this thing tanking. As we all know, an MLS team in St Louis could be a cash cow. A deal will get accomplished.

Kavanaugh said he was surprised Greitens didn't bother to talk to him first. I think he said their economic study is scheduled to come out tomorrow. Wonder if Rex and Show-me got to Greitens early in some kind of back room deal.

Well with all due respect (none) to Rambo elect, nobody gives a damn about his opinion on this, any state $ will be long sealed before he takes office

This is what didn't make sense to me, why is this news now? It's been known for a while that Greitens is against public funds for stadiums and the state $ is decided today. Can he do something, after Jan, that would affect the decision today?

LT. Gov. Peter Kinder was on KMOX this morning talking about the vote today saying the chair is trying to push this through today because once Rambo (I like that) takes office he'll appoint new members to the board that will kill any deal. But if it passes today there isn't much he can do to stop the money.

My opinion it was just a political stunt to come out and say he is against money for the stadium. He knows he can't do anything about it hence the reason he has never talk to SC STL about it before making a statement.

The state’s economic research and information center estimates that the stadium would generate over $64 million in general state revenue over 33 years.
Sounds like a good deal for the state.

I'm sure the same research and information center probably said the same thing when the Rams came. I just don't believe it

Can you provide proof that it won't make the state money?
