I'd probably bump up the median age of this group a tad if I tag along, but as long as my schedule's clear, I'd like to give it a try. 8)

^^ Llywelyn's is a great place, but a hike from the Metro stop. If this is going to be less than a 12 hour crawl we'll need to stay close to the tracks!

^Too bad Magee's is now a strip of vacant land. That would have been much closer to the CWE stop than Llewellyn's. Tom's Bar and Grill is pretty close.

Rosie's Place for the CWE stop.

Tom's is the obvious choice.

I like mercury for the Busch.

Bernies for the Civic Center, perhaps?

Tom's it is. Sorry Capt. j/a. It's 2-1.

I really haven't been on metrolink in quite awhile so I'm fuzzy on what's close to the tracks. W/o thinking I saw CWE & immediately thought Llywelyn's. Thinking a little more clearly it is a bit of a hike isn't it.

I've heard that Bernie's is not open right now so I don't think that's an option.

Since we're gonna have to skip several stops (especially if we take this into Illinois) I figured we could skip the Scottrade stop & just head to Mercury from the Busch stop. Especially if we're stopping @ US. By no means do I think we need to stop @ US, especially if our choices are only Hard Rock & Houlihan's. I'm willing to give Key West Cafe a try if it has a bar. Anyone know? Key West, Hemmingway, alcohol. Sounds like a good combo.

314, please tag along. Diversity, diversity, diversity.

As far as the 12 hour thing goes. I'm up for kickin' this puppy off earlier. Just didn't know how many others would be willing to kick it off too early. I'd hate for there to only be about 3 of us @ the 1st couple stops, but if a handful are willing to be troopers I'm game.

One thing I've really sold myself on is kicking it of at some airport bar. Something about the lonelines & desperation of an airport bar just feels right for this type of thing. All other stops I'm very open to suggestions. As long as we get a good variety of establishments in the mix. I really don't think anyone wants to got to 10 different versions of the same bar.

^ Friday, Nov., 23 Right now it seems like it will kick off noonish @ the airport & we'll make it to the final stop midnightish(Seriously, I think we should try to make this a semi-regular thing with the goal of encouraging metrolink to run later trains, @ least on the weekend)

As I said before, I'm willing to kick it off earlier than noon if e few others are willing to start early. More responsible drinkers can always catch up to the crawl later.

If anyone is willing to start earlier, just say so in this thread. Any other suggestions for other bars along the stop or any ideas/suggetions are greatly appreciated.

Hey, it's less than 2 weeks away, so if we're gonna do this we gonna need to firm up some plans & get some confirmations. Nothing iron-clad, but some reassurance that it hopefully won't end up being 3 or 4 guys making it to the first couple bars then petering out halfway through.

Also, if any mods/admins wanna help out by spreading the word to other posters about this thread, that would be nice too.

I'm gonna have to wait until the first of the year to join the pub crawls. It's too bad, as I would love to go on this one. Damn the pointless 21 year old drinking age.

I do have to work, but I am taking off for this. Too good to miss.

Let's get all our stops firmed up this week. With that said, I'm not that great with suggestions for many of the stops. I'm more along for the ride shall we say.

Ok, this is the best I can do so far w/o actually being in STL right now. I may have found a couple more place to add in but I want a chance to see what the walk from station to bar will be like. I'll be in STL sometime this weekend & I'll make a dry run to check everything out, so we should have a final final list w/ times by Sunday the 18th.

Here we go, keep in mind these times (other than the 1st & last) are subject to a little juggling after my dry run. As it stands, I think it may be a decent crawl right now w/o any changes. Just need to be sure.

Lambert Airport airport bar (arrive @ noon)

Delmar Loop Delmar Lounge (arrive @ 1:30)

Central West End Tom's Bar & Grill (arrive @ 3:00)

Union Station Key West Cafe (arrive @ 5:00)

Busch Stadium Mercury (arrive @ 6:30)

Convention Center Dubliner (arrive @ 8:00)

Laclede's Landing Xes (arrive @ 9:30)

Belleville Main Street Jazz and Blues (arrive @ 11:00)

^

So friday afternoon? Really. Seems an odd choice. You shoulda just said, "I'm getting hammered and riding the Link all day friday...Anyone wanna come?"

Anyway, that is a no-go for me, though it sounds like it'll be a lot of incoherence come the latter portion.

I'll be out of town for the holiday...

In the Caribbean!...its gonna be tough, but someone has to do it.

Does the metro run on weekends? I thought most people work on weekdays and have the weekends off. Oh well. :?:
