Why are we sharing nearly 20 year old articles in the photography thread?

I didn’t realize this was photography only? I’d love to see an update 20 years later to that article from the fed. Anyways… here are some pics…

This thread is in "Photography Showcase," so should be focused on photos, especially for a subject that has numerous threads to discuss various aspects.

If you’re not a rail fan you might be missing Rail Magazine Twitter feed as they’re in town. Always nice to see the system from outsider perspective.

^ Thanks for sharing.  I was on it this weekend between Clayton and 8th and Pine and there were some stretches it was booking.  Much faster than usual it seemed.

Also, someone with the tweeter should message him and tell him we opened a new station at Cortex and rebuilt the CWE and Grand stations since he’s last been here.

^^58 mph? Really?  I'm skeptical.  From my experience, watching cars go by on the highway or vice versa, I'd be surprised if it exceeded 50.  And that's likely the highest-rated stretch of track.

It'd reach about that fast between CWE and Grand before the Cortex station was added.

I’ve paced it at about 55 before

The Wikipedia page (I know) says its top speed is 65mph.  I bet it reaches that in some Illinois stretches.  It moves pretty good through the subway portion on the Blue Line.

Nice view of Clayton in this video.  Always one of my favorite views on the system:

^Agreed! Very nice. They hit the saturation button a tad hard, but otherwise I cannot complain. (And I have to admit, that button sings a siren song.)

Need to take a picture of it yet but there’s a nice new mural on the building next to the Forest Park station. The wall next to the drop off space. It seems to take inspiration from the hit game Among Us.
