Got it! Thanks. Glad to see some movement there - it's a too prominent a corner to have vacant (commercial and residential space) for too long.

Is this the original proposal that was discussed on here like 4 years ago or a different one?

It's still apartments, but Jassen Johnson owns it now.

He's someone I have confidence in to get it done.

That bottom floor retail would be an excellent location for a CAVA

Finally got a BJ article on the new plan.

The plan includes 182 apartments targeted at SLU graduate students, 5 spaces for restaurants, artist maker spaces, and an "upscale rooftop venue".

Interior demolition is almost completed with new framing underway. Johnson says he wants part of the building to open in March or April.

Johnson also said new construction on the adjacent parking lot is not off the table, depending on the success of the redevelopment.

What’s the status of this? I can’t tell if it’s active construction site or not with actual activity. Some windows are out, trash chute, fence around perimeter.

I'm pretty sure they're replacing the old windows with new ones now (I noticed new ones on the high floors yesterday). This has been a weird construction project with the staging seemingly to the north of the building, and construction has kinda been in fits and starts? But it looks like it's progressing; I'm guessing the inside demo was pretty extensive. Really hope they can add some solid retail on the ground floor.

And if I remember correctly, isn't there going to be a restaurant on the rooftop? With where this building sits, this might end up the best rooftop view in the city with CWE/Grand Center/Downtown all within view

I believe that there are 4 or 5 retail spaces.  Looks like drywall is being delivered today when I drove past.

I hope they split this up into as many retail spaces as possible. It’s such a good location but Grand Center needs more retail granularity.
