I was driving around LaSalle Park the other day - the neighborhood is beautiful, but there seems to be WAY too much vacant land around Park Ave.  Are there any plans to add more infill to the neighborhood?

Good question. LaSalle Park remains a mystery to me. It seems to always teeter. I wonder what the owner occupancy rate vs. rental unit ratio is? Also, I don't know what to think about the lack of retail services -- apparently planned that way.

Didn't there used to be a private swimming pool in Lasalle Park?

^I believe the City still operates a public, indoor swimming pool and rec center right on Gravois. Don't know about a private one, though.

There's a private swim club in Lafayette Square, off Mackay, I think.

^ There was a SWEET townhome on Park Avenue for sale a few weeks ago that has access to the swim club you mentioned.

I would've bought that place in a heartbeat, if only it didn't cost twice as much as the humble bungalow that I now call home!

Potential...to be the first pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, maybe even car-free. I'm looking for what they have already but with more than just residential. There are churches and a couple of private businesses but nothing that brings pedestrian activity like retail and restaurants.

Potential...to be the first transit-oriented historic neighborhood.

Potential...to be the first neighborhood contiguous to downtown with a median home sales price of $500K.

Potential...for the park land to resemble the Boston Commons.

BTW, the City's swimming pool/rec center will soon get a multi-million dollar makeover thanks to the recently approved tax increase.

What was the sale price of that Townhome?

^ It was $339,000. I believe it's now off-market, but a similar townhome in that row is apparently now up for grabs.

Do some simple math, and you'll see just how humble my abode is!

Looks good. I had seen the signs on Park up for a long time, but could never find anything. Looks like, preliminarily, a pretty solid infill project.

Can we convince someone to pick up 1715 S 11th St and turn it into a Boutique hotel? (SEE: 1719-33-south-9th-t10652.html#p360077)

^Huh! I think I have a picture or two of that building floating around somewhere. Was it a printing company? I hope someone does something with it.

^ I walk by this place every day, and as recently as a...week (?) ago there were still people parking and, I'm assuming, working there.  So I think it's currently still in use.  I've thought in the past that loading area would be cool as a mini outdoor concert area, but with it being immediately surrounded with residential that wouldn't fly. Haha. A hotel would be a much more practical use of the whole facility. 🙂

These are incredible, only if everywhere in our city could get this quality of infill
