1000 Morrison has been purchased by Landmarks Association of St. Louis. Hopefully that means it's headed for a full rehab?

Portions of the side facade have been falling into the 10th Street Pedestrian Mall (as shown below in pictures taken by city workers):

Edit: Somehow I missed the building permits for the property. At a minimum there will be stabilization work, so that's positive!
Owner Name Permit Type Application Date  Completion Date Issued Date New Use Estimated Costs Description
LANDMARKS ASSOCIATIONS OF ST LOUIS I Building 04/21/2026 $34,000.00 Landmarks Association project. Installation of temporary structural shoring system to stabilize existing wall structure.
LANDMARKS ASSOCIATIONS OF ST LOUIS I Building 11/24/2025 11/24/2025 SINGLE FAM $40,000.00 EXTERIOR ALTERATIONS - MASONRY STABILIZATION PR PLNS

...and update to the update -- St. Louis Patina reported on this already a few weeks back and stated the following:

Due to the efforts of Landmarks Association of St. Louis and Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, control of the building has been wrested away from the slumlord who owned the historic structure for many years. Rehabilitation has already begun and soon it will be restored to its former beauty.

The failing brick wall has been fully rebuilt now. There's a lot to do still, but that takes care of the most important immediate concern.

^Damn was going to say the same thing - amazing building! Way to go Landmarks 👏

(I used to walk that cobblestone pathway for my post-lunch walk when I worked at Purina - such a fun little hidden section of STL)
