People are working on bringing a well know brand with national appeal to the Landing, which would in turn bring another biz that is adjacent to this one in its customer base.  It would double the taxable sales on the Landing over night from $7m a year to $14m and easily much more.    The brand is in but it needs some things done first and people are working on that.   I don’t want to put a % of it but it’s a no brainer for everyone to work together and make it work
If we're talking sit-down style.... something in the ballpark of Chilis/Applebees/Yard House/Buffalo Wild Wings...... if we're talking fast chain, ballpark of Jamba Juice/Dunkin/Popeyes.... which is closer? 😏 Or, am I completely off base and it's more goods/retail focused?
Yard House would be amazing

A redevelopment proposal plan for Laclede's Landing called "River Center" was created by Schwarz & Van Hoefen, Architects in the 1960s. The project went through a couple iterations, but ended up being largely shelved due to backlash about demolishing historic buildings and competing visually with the arch. This iteration of the proposal was estimated at $70 million (~700 million today).

Oof that's horrid. Thank God that didn't go through.

Though I still pine for a bunch of mid and high rise buildings on like every empty lot in that area.

Yikes, thank goodness somebody finally said “let’s maybe not raze every acre of our riverfront that made this a world city”

Agreed, infill in the landing though would be so nice. I would still rather focus the supply on getting the rehab moving north into the warehouses that haven’t been burned to the ground and beautify the riverfront then come back to infill upon demand. Though I understand the reality may require the inverse order

I wonder if this "innovation district" plan has any actual juice behind it. I would certainly welcome a 15,000 seat theater in that location.
